I am begging the PS5 Homebrew Community:
Multi Boot Option (I know, would require root access and likely flashing to memory so not as easy as what we have).
I'm sure I don't have to tell them, but the idea is that on boot you would pick an option. Some basic options I could see are:
1. Stock Boot. You run the OFW. A place to keep the "official" stuff and allow play online.
2. A CFW or some copy of OFW or something. Ideally, this would be a no-PSN boot for players to do all the things people want to do with a jailbroken PS5 that would live within the PS5 ecosystem itself (the stuff we're doing now). Maybe a CFW that reads apps from a separate location in addition to where the OFW does. Essentially trying to keep OFW as clean as possible in order to give minimal ways for Sony to detect and ban.
3. Maybe a separate OS? Imagining the ability to boot into Steam here.
This is my wishful thinking.

Yep when it comes to coding more and more people won't know how to do it because A.l will do it for them. Its like math once the calculator came in people stopped doing it themselves. I've met many who can't do basic math in their heads.
Due to recent news, I feel it is imperative the PS6 has full backwards compatibility to the PS1 generation.
It is no longer acceptable to just restore the disc drive. It’s the bare minimum to have full BC and a disc drive at this point.

Man I wish Warframe was more beginner friendly. It was before Destiny, and I prefer it personally. The new player experience is a TOUGH hurdle though, so alas it will likely never reach Destiny levels of fanfare. It's a shame, because it's a great developer and very rewarding game if you can get past that first 20ish hours.
Telling the team to become AI First…these dedicated developers—what are they to do? If they band together and start the Michael Scott Video Game Company, those studios using AI will far outpace them…seems like true developers are going to become relegated to more indie type games, where people appreciate creativity over flashy and sparkly graphics. What are these devs going to do??

I don't know man, I've never seen sentiment change like this. I'm sure most PS users will not sail the high seas but this scene is accelerating at a unprecedented clip. There's news coming out multiple times a day it seems. I think there will be squalls up ahead and Davy Jones waiting for Sony because they didn't obey.
Recoups should tell you how good AI is, it's here to stay.

I think bringing D1 to the SWITCH2 at a LOCKED 1080p@120 and 4k@60 could be VERY nice and bring a whole new audience to destiny in general. D1 is a "fixed" sandbox with a limit to content. Could be great.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Playstation announced the end of game ownership, then weeks later we suddenly can jailbreak PS5 consoles, download PS5 ROMs to own for free, and play PS1, PS2, and PS3 games straight from disc. Playstation did this to themselves, the community fought back and is winning. Strip us of legal ownership, the only ownership option left is modding and pirating.
One reason why AI isn't (yet) as controversial over here (I live in Japan) is that the data centers it runs on aren't often located here. Plus, personal computer ownership is at a remarkable low. AND, these countries are experiencing labor shortages combined with historic resistance to hiring foreign talent.
In other words, it isn't THEIR electricity or water or RAM or hard drives or graphic cards or jobs on the line. A game dev living in Seoul or Tokyo is reaping the ""benefits"" of AI plagiarism being shoveled into development while being willfully ignorant of the environmental, financial, moral, ethical, and quality costs.

I read that as "Major Sh!t" 😆 but it's true both ways.
Just imagine if Sony enabled PS2/PS3 disc compatibility on the PS5, that would go a long way to bringing some people back. But, as long as the PS6 is digital only, that's going to hurt it's total unit sales in the longrun. The question is if the number of customers that would stick with them is enough that the larger percentages on their digital sales would make up the difference. I have my doubts, you can't really lose 20% of your customers and make more money, no matter how the accountants spin the numbers.

Random opinion, I’ve never thought Sony’s protection of their partners’ IP and copyright is unreasonable, and that store, “Overdrive”, is gonna be detrimental to the ones, like me, that only want to backup games and not buy into the dystopic all-digital future that Sony wants to shove down our throats.
Seriously pisses me off that we could have been playing PS3 games natively on PS5 all this time.

Overdrive’s been down already since it made headlines….the moment I saw it in different sites I knew Sony was going to be all over it….but overdrive is only one of like 5 different stores that I’ve found so far….that are all still active….just overdrive was the only one that for some reason made headlines and paid the price.
Even if they get rid of any of those stores it’s like a hydra, specially in the era of AI. Even if they were to somehow get them all, you can just install the games via ftp. Takes a bit more work, but if you use AI, you can get a script that will do it in a couple of minutes. There’s no stopping it
If you rejoice at the idea that young artists can make their art so much more easily now thanks to AI, you’re not an artist. The only other explanation is trolling or a fat paycheck.

AI for code writing is fine but AI art looks artificial and I won't support games that have that look to them.

Hey Sony, here's a reason why you should allow customers to play ps1-ps3 disc on your consoles. To justify the consoles price tag

Destiny games need to have a full storymode without any PVE/PVP stuff. Just a straight up campaign.
