I think the reason why you barely have seen any on the book or when you say you had more may be that when the update came, they reset all the mobs you have encountered in the journal and it may just be a glitch not a dev just guessing.

Think im kinda sure the reason some lines are blurred in some of the journals is cuz there might be a glitch, and I think you have to encounter/defeat those entities to get the blurred lines unblurred, atleast that is what happened for me

I’m pretty sure you have to shine a bulk light in their eyes for it to do anything I could be wrong though also light sources only make them slower. I wouldn’t recommend turning around and keeping your light source on them though. Also, you called guiding light, curious light, bro.
