This is unironically better than the new RE game. And also, somehow more believable. It has the one thing AAA will never have, soul.
My favorite ending is where you crash on the beach and the game cuts to Early talking about Chrono Cross.
I loved this game! I really wish the people behind it had made more stuff
good ole runka chunk
This is a game I barely remember, even if back then it was surprising. It was freeware, and very high quality for a freeware project. I think this was around when the indies and alternative games started to appear (around the Cave Story time), so it's a small piece of history. Also, very much influenced by Event Horizon, it was still something people remembered back then.
"Where we're going, we don't need eyes." I believe that's an Event Horizon quote. A movie about a space ship that went to hell and back
All the spooks, but no cake.
0:23 Game Informer. There's a magazine that I haven't heard about in years.
I was more of a GamePro/Electronic Gaming Monthly kinda guy.
God, that flashbanged me like i wasn't born in 1994.
The Thing and Event Horizon references? I see someone likes their scifi horror
oooo pinning this video for later
Definitely takes a lot of inspiration from Event Horizon. The “where we’re going we won’t need eyes” is a direct quote from the movie
I'll surely go back to add to this comment, but I just want to say this before I forget. I'm happy for Kira Buckland
Heard her for years without knowing, because as it turns out. She was the announcer for the original Super Smash Flash, and if memory serves it was also her very first role ever!
0:18 Girugamesh!
Video openings that make you go GIRUGAMESH
I DO in fact miss the era of being glomped! I have found myself relying on insular glomping among friends. But it's consistently high-quality. Also, Early, about the voice recordings you said never went anywhere, yeah, they didn't go anywhere except to a glorious career in videos! Not bad! I remember this game, and that there was a way you could trigger a security camera and see the eyeless head staring back at you. That hallway with the eyeball was especially memorable due to the music! Anime Event Horizon. Good stuff, and thanks for covering it!
you gotta warn a person before you show the Garugamesh commercial 😭
Slap my ass and rotate my save is my new survival horror motto
New Vid and a Chrono Cross reference tally ho!
This is awesome.
Cross>Trigger
There, done that for you. Now people can focus on hating me instead of you.
Do that Chrono Cross video already!
GILGLUGAMESH!
Wow, we are getting a lot of videos and quite frequently too!
GIRUGAMESH! 🤘
This makes me feel horribly ancient. Thanks, Early! Great video!
I hope you never play tormented souls. I stop watching anyone forever who does stupid decisions in that game like you did in the white chamber.
^_^
I like Cross more than Trigger too, but what really would get me crucified is that I like it more than Final Fantasy 9. (I compare them both because I believe they have a similar theme when it comes to existencialism).
There's that it's period of time in the 00's where westerners are just starting to be influenced by anime, but it's almost exclusively Dragon Ball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh and it's so identifiable because of that.
Hey, I love this game! Always happy to see someone else playing and enjoying it! It's a fun, short game with great production quality!
37:27 Pinhead.
The art style is also giving me strong Magi-Nation vibes… that's… weird…
Why does Kira Buckland have the exact same tone and delivery all throughout this?
21:07 Majuular has a good Chrono Cross video.
Early! My day is brightened so much when I have a notification on my phone that you've posted a new video !!!
