Weird that there is no mention of the Bowser room.

“Mario is like Arale.”
People who weren’t fully paying attention
“So you’re telling me Mario can beat Goku in a fight.”
Star Fox 64 got a modern remake, Ocarinas remake is coming out very soon, maybe this is pointing to a possible Mario 64 remake where they can explore some of the ideas that didn't get time to be implemented or couldn't be implemented because of hardware.
15:16 tbf I have heard of very few games that weren't built under enormous pressure. Even most indie games, but especially at full studios (big and small), game design is so difficult and so expensive, and capturing enough attention to make it worth the while is such a fickle thing, that the pressure is always cranked to the max. It's very fun work for sure, but extremely taxing; not surprising to see people leave the industry, even when they had a good time in it.
Even more so nowadays, with the internet twisting and homogenizing opinions so much that people don't bother trying them for themselves. So not surprising that even more talented devs are leaving the industry every year; it's harder than ever and less rewarding than ever, so the cost/benefit of being a game dev keeps getting thinner.
Feels weird to be casually talking about Luigi being playable.
I believe there's another overlooked feature in Super Mario 64 and it has to do with the courtyard miniature mansion that shrinks Mario before entering. There's a rom hack called Mario 64 Odyssey that allows you to throw your hat and become enemies as well as inanimate objects. While in small mode as your entering the mansion it is possible to cancel the warp by throwing your hat and retaining small mode. In small mode, Mario does half the amount of damage to enemies. Why would Nintendo have implemented this if it wasn't a scrapped idea or feature and yet till this day, I have never seen anyone cover it.
This is an excellent video. Super Mario 64 is my all-time favorite game!
people don't realize how important NGC and NGamer was to Nintento fans
9:07 Yoshi event is real 2401
🤌
Still one of the greatest games ever made
Feel like the dashes and moved over element from Mario Bros 3? Where they had the speed arrows. I could be wrong and it could just be a feature that they thought about adding and then left it to the caps instead
Wasn’t expecting the Space Marines to be capable of a Zerg rush but here we are.
Our best guess about the egg is it was going to be the classic "the bird thinks whatever is in its nest is its baby" trope and it would be another take on the mama penguin but hoot would chase after you like the vulture in shifting sand land and grab either Mario or the egg
Maybe Yoshi would eat Hoot and then Yoshi would pop out an egg that had Hoot in it and then maybe hoot would be angry. That's my theory if you ask me.
Super Mario 64 is my favorite anime
Im not a Super Mario expert (I suck at platformers) but I dont think he ever got a dash/tackle attack?
I'm thrilled to finally have a new video, but I'm deeply concerned about the future of the channel.. I know Dr Lava has a lot going on, along with the cast and collabs, but I'm starting to think that we're nearing the end of the channel.. This is exactly what happens before a channel like this goes down, I've seen it several times.. It's certainly not lack of content or lack of funds, I sincerely doubt that.. Last time I brought it up on here, Lava was quick to assure that it wasn't going anywhere.. In the case that he reads this, I don't mean to be overbearing about the lack of content, so I apologize if it comes off that way.. I'm sincerely worried for the future of the channel and that we may be reaching its finale.. There were mixed messages over the last few years about what the channel would be doing, with more in depth research and content.. However, this seems to be the starting point of all this.. I really enjoy all types of videos here, but it seems to be less and less, regardless of the content type.. Whatever happened to guest collabs? Where are the different franchises? Are we really at the point where we will only see one 15 minute video in 2 months? I hate to sound like such a brat, but I don't know what else to say.. I hope it isn't what I think it is and I really do appreciate all the work, regardless.. Thanks for everything!
I think remnants of the Wall Dash still exist in the game, but was removed because Mario can just punch Blocks instead. The Infamous Thwomp's Fortress 1up that is in the base of the tower is an example how breaking walls would have worked. I guess this is why Wario was able to break and dash ghe hard black blocks in DS
Going to call chuckya's carry boys from now on lol
They were cooking up DK Bananza in 1996 😂
13:43 normally puns are lame but this one was actually funny, props
That silly Mii animation of a flying Miyamoto-san was golden. Nintendo should make more silly things like that again. Bring back the frivolity! ^^
I think a fun video to make would be about Japanese Exclusive games from a famous company like Nintendo or Sega. It's really interesting topic!

30 years later and I still can't ever forget that fucking piano
Dropping this so close to Halloween made me think this was going to be DidYouKnowGaming's attempt to chronicle some of the MIPS hole wiki/Super Mario Classified/B3313 nonsense, but… nah, this is just a video about actual behind-the-scenes looks at SM64.
Wait, that WASN'T a Yoshi Egg? Next you're gonna tell me Wario and Waluigi aren't actually brothers!
Jokes aside, it's fascinating that we're still learning new stuff about this one game to this very day.
