S-Game’s Wuxia-inspired combat puts you in the middle of a Chinese action movie.

  1. Combat is obscured by too much SFX, motion blur and its general disregard for "less is more". The game might as well be about robots, futuristic tanks or what have you. It's kina like Nioh, and not at all like Ghost of Tsushima, Sekiro and Sifu. Hard pass from me :/

  2. There is so much flashing stuff on the screen that I can't see what is going on. Why would they hide all that great choreography under these cheap effects. Very disappointing. Not a word a bout performance? Modern reviewers

  3. Complaining about a story that comes into focus as you play? Was this not nearly every soulslike approach to lore? I don't recall seeing the same nitpicking for those games lol.

  4. Chinese Paladin 4 Remake is coming in 2027. The original Chinese Paladin 4 scored 9.4/10 from 17K ratings on Douban, a Chinese rating site mainly focused on movies, books, and TV series, so games tend to get fewer ratings there. For comparison, Black Myth: Wukong scored 9.2/10.
This is the only Chinese game I'm truly looking forward to. Black Myth: Wukong and Phantom Blade Zero are worth keeping an eye on, but Chinese Paladin 4 Remake could be a true masterpiece. Its story is on another level.
My personal ranking of game stories:
    1 Chinese Paladin 4
    2 To the Moon
    3 None for now
