Harry Potter (HBO) casts Lily & James Potter — Jasper Talbot & Hannah Chinn; Harry Gilby as Charlie Weasley (Deadline, Oct 27)
If a movie like Wildwood does not do good, then we are really close to studios just looking at this and making ai slop for animation to appeal to kids, as that market seems exclusively for disney.
I miss the intro music
Maelstrom sounds like Hard Rain (action movie meets disaster movie) and Hard Rain wasn't bad, so it might be good!
1:03:15 I will definitely be very disappointed I can't see it in Imax opening weekend, but of course i'm not gonna skip it just cause i can't see it in imax haha.
not really interested in this new x-men movie seems more like a cw show than x-men movie..
The Punisher does not like Wildwood
Always a pleasure to start a week listening to your lovely, lovely voice, John
Have you talked about The Magicians Nephew at all?
John, can you please bring up Eric Bauza’s passing tomorrow on the show? One of the most legendary voice actors of our time. He deserves to be recognized for all of his amazing work. Horrible loss. RIP Eric🕊️
Cool thing. That was indeed Aaron Paul in Clayface. He was supposed to appear more, but was cut and instead just more a cameo that he turns himself into Aaron Paul.
Walter koenig who played ensign chevov from star trek 1967 to 1969 has died john campea did you heard about it he was good in star trek tvshow and the movies
My brain only recognizes Fast 1-7
Nothing Bundt Cake has been a staple in my house!!! Love to know you love Nothing Bundt Cakes!
Should be noted that Knight Edge Media was the source for the Jon Watts Star Wars news.
Wildwood is easily the best movie of the year
Came in live 5 minutes before the I am rocky comment so watched through then started the stream to that point, no mention about Walter Koenigs death, RIP Pavel/Alfred.
Thanks
Why do they make up things to make their point. There is no 1.5 crap equation. Needs 80 mil to get production back and 60 mil to get marketing back. Add 60 + 80. That is is. Not a win yet because plenty movies second weekend becomes not a win. Like masters of the universe. Just shilling so bad for Gunn. Slop master
Anyone else getting tired of how grounded and generic so many movies and TV shows feel nowadays? 😂 I've started calling this whole phenomenon "grounded slop" because it feels like Hollywood just keeps mass-producing the same bland, overly grounded stuff to the point where it's getting harder to find the actually interesting outliers with some juice to them. Like Lanterns for example, you have this massive sci-fi universe full of crazy lore, alien civilizations, and endless creative possibilities, yet somehow they turn it into another grounded detective thriller like the thousands of others out there.
I wish we got more live-action movies and shows that felt like games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Blade Zero, Ghostrunner, or anime like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Dorohedoro, Chainsaw Man, and Akudama Drive. Worlds with actual personality, distinct visual aesthetics, wild character designs, interesting lore, and atmosphere. That kind of heightened fictional realism where everything feels believable within its own universe while still being imaginative and larger than life.
I don't have anything against grounded storytelling itself, but why does everything need to look and feel like ordinary everyday reality? You can have mature themes, complex characters, and believable human psychology without sacrificing creativity or stylization. I just wish more filmmakers would go all out with their imagination instead of constantly playing it safe. Give me something with some actual flavor and identity rather than another interchangeable prestige drama or the generic actioner like maelstrom lol
Nothing Bundt Cake is amazing!
i think ppl are forgetting that post secret wars they can drop us in at any point of any of these characters. The X-men could have already went through the OG lineup
Lanterns was great. And the strong viewership and ratings back that up too.
Frank is about to wake up with his house on fire
Skydance offers voluntary buyouts and moves to 5 day in office policy across company. Deadline.
The Street Fighter drop at least proves 1 thing…no one wants to see fighting game adaptations
