  1. Apply the same thinking to 343 Bruce. In their near 2 decades of existence and 15 years of handling Halo, they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory every single time. The only good game to even come out was the sole one not developed/contracted out in house. Rest in piss 343 industries

  2. Liara is definitely in her Matriarch stage. Meaning the game would take place at least 700+ years since the events of ME Trilogy.

Definitely intriguing to think about how the galaxy and its civilizations have evolved from the first games where humanity had just joined the galactic community just 30 years prior.

However, I don't expect any of the writers at Bioware to even think of this aspect and the galaxy likely would have changed very little.

Also the music in the trailer was not Mass Effect. It's very synth and bass heavy, very synthwave. Mass Effect has synth, but it's almost always accompanying orchestral instruments.

Bioware would never had a come back under EA. Bioware's downfall started from the EA acquisition. A ton of OG Bioware talent left during and after ME3s release with Mass Effects own writer leaving during development because "It became more about market research rather than creative intuition."

No Mans Sky is always the go to as a come back story, because they were allowed to do what they wanted. If Hello Games was under EA you bet your ass that NMS would have never even gotten to the first major patch for the game before EA had them working on a different project or closing their studio since they weren't making a profit.

Bioware died a long time ago. The only hope for Mass Effect or any of Bioware's IPs is that by some miracle EA actually sells them to a company that knows how to make video games and not products.

  3. Bruce hasn’t seen the trailer, but he still finds a way to shit on this project’s developers. In a rush to post this you neglected the bare minimum reporting to be relevant to the conversation. Local news style effort here for the gaming community.

  4. I like you guys but your interpretation of how capitalism works is on a 16yr older's level. What we saw at Bioware is closed circle ideology crashing head-on against a harsh business structure. Of course they were going to get shut down. Can't live on fantasy & stardust forever. At some point the dream ends and you have to work up to reality. They were hemorrhaging money and it was Biowares own fault. We all know this. Sick & tired of people being so dishonest about the situation.

  5. Unlike BioWare, Hello Games is an independent studio. When you spend someone else's money, they get a say in how much of it they allow you to lose. I'm shocked that EA gave BioWare ten plus years of floundering and failure. That's not siding with the corporation over the developers. That's having eyes and being honest.

  6. If this trailer were show at that Game Awards that also had Casey Hudson's new Star Wars, Divinity and the new Exodus trailer (and maybe Osiris Reborn too? I don't remember), people would have lost their fucking minds… I can't help but think that 6 years of basically silence, only giving us nonsense teasers backfired big time

  7. Saw the trailer, it looks more like Mass Diversity: Universe, than anything else. I guess it's good that Bioware became Biowaste. (I'm not against diversity but it just feels like it's planted diversity in Mass Effect: Universe)

  8. Anthem, Andromeda, Veil Guard. If maybe they got rid of the the exec that kept trying to get them to do multiplayer games and the writing team one of their last games would have turned out better. Rip

  9. "Andromeda" also presented itself interesting on some trailers. So that video doesn't really mean anything. After 6 years of work, they've only came with something like that? That's an absurd.
Not feeling sorry at all, for closure of bioware. That studio deserved it – "Inquisition" was the end of real BioWare.

  10. First of all, Fuck EA and Fuck the Saudis and thank you Bruce l for standing up for the little guys.

Having said that, i don't think the No Man's Sky comparison works. NMS was a game people really wanted, and when it launched, it was not the game that was promised. That game sucked on release. It became the definitive video game comeback story because Hello Games worked to make NMS into the game that was promised over the coming years. I don't think Andromeda or Veilguard were just flawed games but had a core that people wanted to see grow. It's that core that was being rejected by the audience and no amount of work could save it. I think people did want more Anthem and for that game to grow though.

Hello Games also isn't owned by a corpo. The number doesn't have to go up every quarter. If Sean Murray doesn't think long term, then he's out of a job too. He's not some souless, lizard-person who can wear a different skinsuit and find another CEO position like you find at EA, Sony, Microsoft, etc.

Anyways, keeping up the good work guys.

  11. Yeah, and if the trailer is any indication it doesn't look like it's going anywhere interesting. It's very early stuff and a very limited glimpse, fair enough. That said, too much key jangling. 600 yrs after the original trilogy? Why does it look like nothing has changed?
I'd love more adventures in the ME universe but the hype from this trailer went over my head. As Papa Goose said; manage your expectations.

  12. Franchises EA killed:

    Mirrors Edge
    Titanfall
    Mass Effect
    Dead Space
    Army Of Two
    Dantes Inferno
    Overlord
    Command&Conquer
    Syndicate
    Battlefield: Bad Company
    Need For Speed
    Burnout
    Dungeon Keeper
    The Sabatour
    Medal Of Honor
    Dragon Age

    R.I.P.

  13. People that didn't learn their lesson from andromeda, and instead turn a blind eye to all the faults and say, It will be better this time, they will be good to me now, they promised they changed. It's a good thing this game died, if only to save all those fools who never learn from bad experiences, from themselves

  14. The No Man's Sky comparison doesn't work. Hello Games is Indie while Bioware was owned by EA. Hello Games knew they messed up and wanted to fix the game and their relationship with their fans. The same was not true for Bioware. I am sad Bioware is gone but they have been gone for a while and I don't think they would have had the same comeback. From Anthem to Andromeda to Veilguard, there is a clear line of progression with the only deviation being the Legendary Edition which was a remake of something people already liked.
