Veilguard had a ton of law to work from, a storyline already set up after inquisition and a diverse setting with mixed ethical lines where good and evil was a muddied concept. And they abandoned all that for a linear "feel good" if you are an enlightened "modern audience" member (feck you chuds) cringe fest. When nothing in the previous games mattered then there was no reason to play veilguard. They killed Bioware (wanting to stop losing money is not greed ) and have only themselves to blame – but I suspect some are glad as it is another win against the "gamers" (from the mouths of some of the activists themselves). The push back against the first trailer should have been a wake up call but it seems the "woke" sleep walk into disaster more often than not. I feared for what the next Mass effect would bring (I still play the original trilogy and not the censored remaster) and will stick with my backlog (oh and maybe pick up the hellraiser game) until gaming becomes entertainment again and not a platform for any message.
Cancelled doesn't mean this will never see the light of day, it all depends on the saudis and what they want to do with the IP, but as one of bioware biggests IP's I find it hard to believe they will never cash in on it with one last release

A safe slam dunk with remake??? They prioritised censorship over delivering ME3 multiplayer…..
If they instead of censoring those genetically perfect cheeks to 'own the chuds' delivered a fun repayable multiplayer with ongoing revenue maybe mass effect team would've have a leg to stand on

So sad a damn travesty the game industry has been all because of advisors like sweet baby inc and others like them leeching through the industry and corrupting and being a plague of fear mongers along side cancel culture the industry needed the clean up but it's a shame so many beloved IPs were sacrificed and corrupted during the height and down fall of these leftist movements. Rip Mass Effect I do wonder if mass unity could bring it back or have the IP sold to another studio to pick it up rather than the book being closed on the IP entirely the 50 Devs should start a new studio and approach a publisher to purchase the dead asset from EA and their parent company the Saudis

From what was explained it did sound like we were going to get a Mass Effect, that remembered how to be Mass Effect. Trouble is though after the absolute mess that was Andromeda and the woke lecturing of Dragon Age the Fail guard, all expectations are low. Hell some people were convinced that had this game came out we would've had a "male" Asari, who would have to stop the game to announce that she's a "he" and demand "he" be recognised as such. While I will miss Bio Ware of old that gave us the Mass Effect trilogy and the first two Dragon Ages, can't say I'll miss the current batch, however had Bio Ware not bother with Andromeda or Veil guard, we might've had one hell of a come back, maybe even Dragon Age The Dread Wolf, a DA we actually wanted. Too late now.

I personally dont care for the people who make mass effect universe! As long as the game IP gets bought or transformed to another game developer im good with that. I dont want woke developers making a game for me. A fresh crew could do wonders with mass effect universe. Leaving in my opinion the biggest and best story plot unfinished in videogame history will be the greatest sin done in videogame history! The cancelled prey 2 2011 game already hits hella deep but this will cut even deeper. I signed the petition and i hope it will get saved.
The original Mass Effect trilogy was epic. The next – er, not so much 🤦🏼♂️. Personally enjoyed Vailguard – to a point. As you said, to railroaded.

From all the info we got, they gave bioware a lot of leeway to operate.

Good on you for qualifying the woke stuff. The word has kind of lost all meaning in between all the extreme discourse as time went on.
And I don't think Veikguard would have had good writing even without the while soapboxing removed. The whone tone of the writing was off, for the most part at keast. There were some good moments in thebre, I'll give you that.
Ultimately, to me, the downsrds path started when they declared to be chasing the CoD audience way back in the day. They still put out good stuffsince then, but you could see the games transition and morph with each release away from what was to me the studio's corr identity, which appealed to their corr audience.
I don't want to yuck anyone's yam but people thinking the petition is gonna change anything are… well not very smart.
Even dumber is comparing this to Destiny's 2 situation.
Anyway – IP's dead. That's it. It sucks and EA can go fuck itself but… It is what it is.
Judging from that trailer it's probably for the best that Bioware is dead… 7 years and all we got was that trash??

Um no, this game reeked of live service slop, plus Drew Karpyshyn wasn't involved…the nowadays garbage tier studio getting the axe was for the best.
Mass Effect 1 through 3 were absolutely my favourite games. When i was done with 3 i spent a very long time playing multiplayer really having a hard time letting go(like a really long time i crawled up to being amongst the top ranked Aussies at one point) and i grabbed the legendary edition when it dropped. Andromeda was…something. A game i found so ok i never bothered with a second play through. But Bioware reeeeally dropped off. I even love Dragon Age. But even in Inquisition you could feel things getting a little wonky.
I am at peace if it is all over. I want to believe this game was going to be amazing but im so bitten maximum shy to trust a shiny cinematic trailer. Ive even now seen a former bioware guy saying the rot was from within with hiring going through linkd in to see what people liked. To protect group think and so they social reproduced themselves into a toxic positivity death spiral. Gotta own the chuds right we now noone owns anything well played.
I mourn the loss it was there at a dark time for me too and N7 day has almost the same reveremce to me as may the 4th. That said i am at peace with it ending. Id rather that then have something just shit all over the legacy
