Improving Minecraft’s Most FORGOTTEN Blocks

The minecraft 26.4 snapshot cycle has recently started showcasing many new features like the new ice caves, freezing potions, and ice bricks! Those new ice brick blocks were something that I never really realized I needed, but they got me thinking about some of the other block families that I think deserve to be updated. There are many families of blocks that are bizarrely missing variants that other similar block families have had for years. Alternatively, there are also plenty of blocks that feel incomplete as they don’t have all the functionality you would expect them to have. So today I chose 10 block types that I feel need to be improved by either getting new variants or having new functionality. So join me as I try my best to improve Minecraft’s most forgotten blocks… Also I had to delay this video so if my comments about calcite become outdated I will cry.

  1. My theory behind there being no Terrocotta building block expantion is that theres the mesa update going on behind the scenes and their preserving it for then

  2. Hot take: almost all blocks should NOT have stair and slab variants

Concrete should have slab but not stair variants

But quartz, basically marble before we had "discount marble" should have all variants, because its a "fancy" building material, but things like terracotta should be full block only, maybe slabs and walls

  3. 15:41 i think it would be cool as hell if you could dye leather armor with potion effects, not entirely sure how that would work or be balanced but it could give it a use beyond the part of the game where it’s the best you can get, because even then it’s not always used, most people i’ve seen skip straight to iron or gold

  4. To add on to your point about colored lighting, the whole lighting definitely needs a rework to allow for colored lights. Stained glass and cushions don't count, those don't actually change the color of the light. I'm just saying if Doom 64 could have colored lights in 1996, Minecraft has no excuse anymore.

  5. as a fix for the redstone lamps they should add a new redstone component that resets the redstone strength (like from a low level 14-1 or even 0) back to full strength, so they don't have to copy a whole bunch of differently colored lights just so they can dim a little. But for now we can only dream🐦‍🔥

  6. Finally someone else is bringing up the wall inconsistencies.

It's been one of my biggest nitpicks with the game as a builder, and it just doesn't make sense
