Hermitcraft S11#15: Blotting Out The Sky

Now that the majority of Scrappers Street has been completed, we move onto another main section of the Complex base.

First we blot out the sky, which is a fancy way of saying we build a big black ceiling. Then we attach 2 massive columns and a big sign onto our Storage Room to make it into the Storage Depot of the city. I also show off some new Jump Pad tech I’ve been trying to get working on multiplayer.

We end the episode with some fun and games. We check out Docm’s “Ice Climbers” game, our entry into the “Kill A Tango” competition, and go golfing for my first time at Cub’s amazing “Hermit Groves” golf course.

  1. . THE PRANK
    . DOESN'T HAVE TO
    . BE MALICIOUS!

No-one gets mad when diamonds randomly appear. You have got heaps, give some of them to Doc via dispensers randomly firing and a "cha-ching" sound affect, when he walks around his storage area.
Or put a ravenger beside his bed and kill him, fun death loop.🙂
Keep up the great content ❤️

  2. The slime launcher movements inside the base is damn cool – you could build 2 always: right one forward, left one backwards – just like with escalators fx.

  3. Etho, final life was waiting for you. We were waiting for you. I was so sad to find out you weren’t there… But I understand, we all understand. Thanks for staying with us, even if you’re not in this life series. Thanks for keeping up the good work always! And I very much hope to see you in the next one

  4. Inbetween the big pranks for Doc you should constantly act suspicious around him and get 'caught' in weird places in his base so he rechecks his redstone, chests, builds, etc.

  5. re: the rocket blocking the storage room: I always found a defining and often missed aspect of cyberpunk and industrial futurism is clutter. The idea that everything is built on top of each other and fighting for space. I think it's kind of a good thing to have partially obscured vistas that force people to move to a certain perspective to see them.

Loving this season so far. The build looks great!

  6. Hey Etho, I've a recommendation for placing blocks easier/faster. Instead of using the in-game settings to rebind your interact button to C, you can use an auto clicker with a toggle on lets say your mouse button 4, or again on C. It's just a one time setup instead of having to change the keybinds everytime, and it should help with carpel tunnel!

  7. Prank Idea: Server-wide beach party on docs base. Nothing stresses him out more than people crawling all over his base, it'll probably be fun to get as many hermits as you can to hang out, and party entertainment idea: noodle races you replicate/make fake redstone noodles and have people run an obstacle race thru them, breaking it in the process (once again, not docs actual redstone cus thats mean) also since hes making an ski resort, making a small patch of one of his ice lakes beach themed would be hilarious.

  8. 13:15 Squibble has an instaneous launch plate design with wind charges. She demonstrates it in her "Minecraft's Dumbest Form of Travel" video. No need for pistons blocking players.

  9. Wild I was like a 12 year old watching you’re silly boat contraptions and now I’m an adult and my girlfriend is telling me to comment effo. Life is good.

  10. 24:51 It's been said before, though maybe you just want to play it up for the content, but it was 1,000 diamonds for the prank and 9,000 diamonds for the target to be Doc. I don't think anyone is expecting a 10,000 diamond prank.

  11. For the Doc pranks and asking for suggestions, could you lay out ground rules? Obviously "blow up his storage room" isn't an option, but there are a lot of levels of pranking/grieving before you get to that level of "unacceptable."
For example: touching his Redstone. This is the whole reason he's spent an entire season pranking Scar because Scar pranked his redstone last season. So are redstone related pranks off the table?
What about pranks involving resource packs or skins? What about armor stand magic?

    – One actual suggestion: Go through his base and add a bunch of "pit traps" where some of the floor blocks are replaced with armor stands holding the blocks so they appear to be normal but have no collision.

  12. Relocate his base, block for block, into the nether. Fill every empty space in every storage container with pink wool stacks and nearly broken bows. Bribe everyone on the server with a couple diamonds to just whack him with a stick next time they see him. “Gift” him a lovely Scar statue in the middle of everything he’s built. Simply get rid of all of his mob-proofing.

  13. Etho, I always want to see your perspective, even if it's been in all the hermits' videos. And for doc it just has to be extremely annoying, he's used to his comfort, break it. Constant visits, be his hype man, go 'undercover' in the hive mind, place obnoxious blocks in his builds, the goal is to have doc begging scar for it to stop imo.

  14. I like the darker, dingy lighting! It also gives opportunity for specific lighting placement where you want it.
Im also curious as to your plans on the base exterior, but man it’s really cool rn- awesome build
