The Helldivers 2 noxious update is finally here. See how the new Terminid strain and biome changes impact your combat survival.

This update introduces the lethal Noxious venom, which alters your stamina and vision during intense firefights. We examine how these status effects change the flow of combat and require new tactical adjustments to survive against the latest bug threats on the front lines.

Beyond the poison mechanics, we explore the new caves on more biomes, meaning these subterranean encounters are no longer limited to specific planets. By reviewing the latest galactic map additions, we break down how these environments shift your mission approach and what you need to prepare for the current war effort.

Subscribe for weekly strategy breakdowns, and comment whether the new environmental hazards make your missions more challenging.

HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.

  1. I’m laughing that I called it, considering we are also going to see that the stalkers themselves are gonna become more of a hassle. The Big cloaking stalkers. my guess is this update took a hot minute because coding a wet mechanic and a poison mechanic can be awfully tedious the design and the spider mechanic and everything probably was really really annoying to make themselves as well. Bye curious if we’re gonna get like some big spider at this point.

  2. I landed three times on the cave roof today because I couldn't maneuver the hellpod. Last time I played hive world was Oshaune. So one year later, they still haven't fixed this bug. AH's incompetence is fascinating.

  3. Instead of addressing anything that has been criticized they introduce an entirely new damage type we have no counter for aside from stims which are limited to each player. All this is going to do it make medic divers more vital for higher difficulties and limits play styles making the already overly relied on supply backpack even more meta. This is also going to put more strain on the players who actually have the stim pistol and by nature of how it works makes the only viable counter we have even less effective to use while diving. This is a new problem being introduced and I already know there is a solution that will be sold to us in a new warbond I can feel it in my democratic soul. Talk about dropping the ball for a such perfectly themed halloween update. AH never misses an opportunity to mishandle things they have control over.

  4. You know what would be nice? If the Booster that prevents slow downs from acid would also limit the poison to be only light poison so you don't lose your sprint. It's balanced enough not to completely negate the strain but it also removes one of the most annoying parts of it and it gives the booster a reason to use it along the 3 horsemen of boosters.

  5. As much as its irritating they keep being late to release things. I for one would prefer they get it right instead of rushing it. Every developer has trouble meeting deadlines. How ever they could be better at letting us know things are delayed rather then forgotten.

  6. Really really tired of them just reskin an enemy (with minor augment) and slap the "new enemy" label on it.

Not to mention their response to the community is that "the roadmap is just tentative"…damn you can't just tell us it will delay can't you?
