A note on repair hammers, probably already know this and not likely to ever be relevant again but repair hammers (at least in oblivion remastered) don't have an overall hp threshold, only a percentage chance to break with each use, meaning you can save scum their use and keep 1 going indefinitely. I've done 2 runs using just gear acquired from the tutorial and the repair hammer lasted start to finish, though using it was incredibly tedious.

Happy Birthday! also If you're considering a Red Dead run I imagine you're talking about RDR1 in which case I have 2 ideas!… a Knife only run because the knife/Melee combat are pretty rough in RDR1 (I'll let you be the decider on Throwing knives being allowed)… Or a Hardcore mode run without dying since it's like a 2 shot kill compared to the base game.
