I played 4 hours yesterday and just said “Majora’s Mask remake WHEN??”
The thing is, even if it's as 11/10 as you say, it can NEVER recreate the feeling of "this is what video games CAN BE" that the original did. The game literally invented so many mechanics that we take for granted now.
I agree with your over the top enthusiasm . My jaw dropped so many different times and I'm just now in the Forest Temple. This is a shockingly well done remake. Blown away.
Ocarina doesn’t need any awards, because of its legendary status. But the team definitely deserves the recognition for how well they preserved the original game while modernizing it to near perfection. I spent the first several hours just in the Kokiri forest taking everything in and exploring every corner. Can’t wait to see all of the updates to the other locations and bosses. Even with my nostalgia goggles, I truly believe this would be a 10/10 new release in 2026. Current release games just don’t give you this feeling of adventure anymore.
I was so pissed when I bought my switch 2 before going to Japan and seeing the Zelda edition on display in Japan… I had no idea they were even remaking the game let alone a special edition switch2… I absolutely would have just sat on my money til it dropped.
Maybe I can still refund it at Best Buy since my family has Best Buy’s membership program thing which gives you better return policies.
Being able to hum is cool, but being able to play the ocarina and the game picking it up brought a tear to my eye. Like what a fkn nice touch that that works.
I feel the same way you do about OoT, but even more so about Majora's Mask.
I never wanted a remake, because the original seems beyond comparison, but now I'm starting to believe.

Taking a short break from playing the game after playing for essentially 9 hours straight, and I agree. This game is a masterpiece. Leaps and bounds over the original, which was already a 10/10 game. As someone who only played the original twice, in this remake I'm still finding secrets I missed in the original, while also having MORE fun with some of the same puzzles and plot points due to the polish and cinematic feel of this amazing remake! Also playing my actual ocarina during gameplay is an experience that most other games will never be able to top.
Liked, paused, "watch later". Going to be difficult to avoid all the in-game content footage in the next few weeks while I slowly play through 🥲

Game world wins today! I remember before the original game came out in Australia and Westfield shopping centres had it set up to play. Pre ordered for weeks. I can’t wait to download this on my switch 2

Ocarina of Time is not dated because gameplay has not gotten better in the last 30 years. Control options, yes. Graphics, yes but gameplay is better in older games.
I am not sold on Link's new look but everything else looks great.
I did buy the game yesterday and I did play the original on nintendo 64 and the new game is so beautiful and am so impressed.
I only could play for 3 hours but for me the best switch 2 game so far🤩 it made me feel happy playing it and just want to play more. 12/10 a must buy game!
Love the graphics but give me Breath of the wild !!! Honestly a few things visually I don’t like and I feel the characters look a bit off although environmental it’s cool

I want to open this by saying I think ocarina of time is on ironically top five greatest and most influential and most important games ever conceived by man and I’d honestly like to think that many people agree with me playing the remake of this game has blown me away and I went into this remake with beyond extraordinarily high expectation for a game that is 28 years old ongoing 30. I didn’t expect Nintendo to deliver the way Nintendo has everything down to the most minute and minuscule details are perfect. The music is nostalgia incarnate. The combat is perfect. The game is incredible and there isn’t a moment of distaste or dullness in my heart ocarina of Time was my childhood. I have an entire desktop gaming rig and this game has for six hours made me forget that I even owned a computer. I have never used a console so excitedly so expectantly in at least a decade. I am absolutely going to 100% this game. I am so so so excited and so so so blown away, my expectations were flung out the water. I’m beyond impressed and I could easily say that this remake is probably the greatest remake of all time and I will die on that hill. Feel free to come at me in the comments. LMAO genuinely I’m begging you if you have an Nintendo switch too buy this game play this game. I don’t care if you’re a Zelda fan or not if you don’t have a Nintendo switch two and you have the financial means to buy one or you were already looking at the market for one please get one for this game I could not push this enough. I promise you this will be one of your favorite games if not your favorite game of all time it’s a 1 million out of 10 it is a must play.

I have a small issue with impa's design and im only up to death mountain so my opinion might change but that design is my only lowlight so far 9.5/10
I will never trust this guy's opinion on a anything related to games. Ever since he said Overwatch over Doom Eternal. That's someone who is paid by the system.
As someone who never played the original game looks like a solid 8 out of 10 I can understand why people are going crazy it's like nostalgia bait but the game does look quite good.

I'm not very far in but man forgot how I miss the more streamlined versions of Zelda. And I love the look of the game honestly. I never actually played Ocarina that much because as a kid I had a Super Nes and played the crap out of A Link to the Past, but then didn't play Zelda again until I bought a Wii and played Skyward Sword. Which I loved and still do. Liked Breathe of the Wild but was a bit disappointed with Tears of the Kingdom.
And while many will disagree with me this is the first console seller game on the Switch 2 for me personally. Only second game on Switch 2 I have bought and plan to keep. Other being my copy of Trails In The Sky 2nd Chapter. Also played First Chapter with the upgrade pack on Switch 2.
I was wrong about this game. I thought i hated the art direction and princess zelda looked horrible but its really grown on me. This game is gorgeous. There is an art direction that is unique. I understand the npc art direction now. Why sone have full eyes and others just black orbs. I will say the purple pupil eyes just don’t work. It makes characters look creepy
