I'm less worried about it being necessary for progression and more about it being bloat. A new dimension is cool and all, but unless there's a lot of things to get from it, things that build on existing items (f.e the nether has quartz, quartz is used for observers, daylight sensors, builds, it also has netherite etc) it's just a bunch of empty space consisting of 60 new blocks with no use other than building

I really think we should get a world customization setting to set block stack size.
My personal take on the inventory update is that blocks should be a maximum stack of 512, because that's about the largest base 2 number you can fit into an inventory slot UI wise.
