My backlog is so huge that this video makes me sad. Thanks but I’ll never finish my list 😂
there are to many games.
one part of gaming is having a shared experience or struggle with others. a communal experince.
back in the day when there were fewer games, people when home, played the same single player game then went back to school/uni/work and spoke about it with their friends.
now everyone has their own algorithm, they play different games and when ever you want to talk about games, people expect you to talk about it online with others that are already playing that game.
despite there being 1000s of more games and better p2p social media, people feel more lonely. people feel like they are not doing the same things everyone else is doing.
Yeah i used to be a gamepass / playstation plus junkie but then i became a collector and i still have the same problem of too much choice, but at least i own my games and can choose to get rid of some to make room for others.
The problem is there is too much to play so it becomes nothing, you cant try 200 games to get 1 good game, it sucks, but it is how it is now days
The evolution of "I have a thousand channels, and nothing to watch"
You don't have anything to play because you are trapped on the console plantation during the least productive era the industry has ever known. Join the PCmaster_RaCE! Where you can 360 quick scope in a MW2-Minecraft-Skate hybrid mod.
trying to call it accurately without offending the unofficial yet mandatory. thank you falcon for walking the vanishing line of quality game review and what is acceptable/expected critisism of games that have political activism shoved into them.
timmy was right when he said " in the future there'll be 500 tv channels n nothing to watch"
Women: I have nothing to wear.
Men: I have nothing to play.
Someone was asking what game is the video at 3:44 ? It is Agefield High: Rock the School. It's quite clear that the developers intended it to be a spiritual successor to Bully however it sucks and it sucks bad. Stupid missions, stupid story, stupid characters, sh∆t graphics for 2026, and buggy to boot. I wouldn't play more of it if someone actually paid me to play it.
I don't min/max games anymore
I min/max fun in games in 60mins or less
I have an insane amount of games to play, I just don't have time
One thing I've found that helped me get back into it is turning off all performance metrics (FPS Counter, frametime counter, CPU/GPU usage). Just select a preset, and play. Don't look at the FPS, just play the bloody game!
I realized that I was getting to obsessed with getting the best performance out of my PC. That just ruins everything.
2010 was the last time i was unabashedly intersetsted in a game. Not that newer games arent worth it, but something changed in the 2010s that made games….forgettable…after the announcement of the 'next gen' consoles, xbox1/ps5, i just lost interest, cost too high for the value of what is released.
some will argue dei, i claim the loss of interest began before dei/sweet baby inc/ those just accerlerated the trend of proper gamers being underwhelmed by game releases, then the post covid release schedule happened and lifelong gamers (from nes era) just dropped off and companies failed to recognize how their seeknig of a new audience directly alienated the established fans (paying customers)'
good to see another upload
Interesting stuff mate 👍
Too many games is currently my dilemma… And it is hell
I see what your doing.
Making out the reason erte not intrested in games is because its psychological. The free therefore lowers intrest.
But the agument you put forth is also psychological your manipulating viewers into the whole phyical media debate. Of we stop buying gamepass and PS+ then they have no choice but to push physical and thus increase intrest.
Clever…. but where im from thats called subliminal messaging. And thats illegal.
You aint toying with me.
"Too many great games." – me
My son laughs and jokes with me all the time about this. There really are too many great games and when you have the lack of skill I have it drives me crazy because I want to get through so much but can't.
As for ever having the feeling like there was nothing to play well that was when I let my lack of skill make me sad and depressed and I stopped gaming altogether or limited it. I felt that how I was gaming was representative of how my life was. I have failed at way too much and then failing at gaming made things worse. Glad I am over that though. Wish I could fix more than my gaming life though. LOL!
I just played through mass effect andromeda, and boy was i surprised at how good it was. Good story excellent gameplay, im a little bit disappointed there wont be and andromeda 2.
1:10 try dance moms, Abby Lee yelling at everyone. Super entertaining
Honestly I watch Gameranx videos and play games based on those videos. Never thought I’d play any Yakuza game but I’m (trying) to play them all.
Fantastic episode!
I'm getting a bit of a blah blah blah feeling from this video.
Im the opposite, so many older games im going through. And i use real systems. I own my media, so, once i buy it, i can play em whenever
I feel so seen
I’m in this boat. Nothing to play but the reality is I have a massive back log a plethora of platforms and what I consider gamer fatigue. Too much and breaking thru that barrier is a real challenge. In the past you had maybe one or two games and you dug in. Eventually something new came along and you were gifted a game or saved up to buy a new one and played that. Just now having so much and so much coming is a mind bending challenge to get through and it only gets worse. In addition yes, movies shows and life to content with. This is the real challenge of being a gamer for 30+ years. Things have changed. The future is an AI realtime generated game as you play. Not only a story you play but one the completely changes as you play and no two people have the same experience nor the same game. This is the future I see coming. A game that changes completely as you play not just a world that reacts to how you play. Anyway yes. Video game overload.
There's a psychological phenomenon called "The Paradox of Choice." Basically, having too much choice reduces satisfaction and makes choosing harder. To simplify it to a near triviliaty, when you can see a bunch of places where the grass might be greener it makes whatever grass you're looking at feel not good enough. Back in the 1980s, I absolutely LOVED the platformer Manic Miner, but I had few other choices. Do you think I'd play it now? That bloody computer beep music is worse than having someone drill into your ear! The speed is interminably slow. The accuracy is finnicky. Obviously I'm comparing primitive tech with advanced in thinking about playing that nowadays, but at the same time we feel the same way comparing one modern game to another. Cool, this one has a great story, but oh look at how much better the combat mechanics are on that one, and this one might not be as strong but it speaks specifically to my experience, etc, etc, etc.
I'm mentally preparing for phantom blade zero
Y’all ever saw that old V sauce vid of the jelly bean choice thing. Basically the experiment showed that we usually don’t enjoy having too much choice
Play Outer Wilds
It's because all the games y'all think are great are actually shite
falcon, you’re such a cool dude
just finished dawnwalker, gonna start control. i always have games to play. so many fucking games
Should have kept your old game consoles and hard copies 🤷
Best thing you can do is when you start a game do not play anything else until you FINISH that game. Uninstall other games. Whether that means you complete the game or you are completely done otherwise.
Falcon doing borderline late capitalism defense was not on my bingo card.
You shouldn't justify companies being bad and anti-customer by going "well companies are SUPPOSED to rip you off, can't blame them" then get sensitive when people call you out for it.
