  1. *Yes, you are absolutely right.*

Taking an oil-based vitamin D capsule with just water is *safe* and generally **effective**.

    Here is the simple breakdown:

    * *The Oil Inside is Enough:* Since the vitamin is already dissolved in oil (like cottonseed, olive, or MCT oil) inside the softgel, your body can absorb it without needing to eat a fatty meal at the exact same time. The carrier oil provides the necessary fat for absorption.
    * *Water is Fine:* You do not need to swallow it with milk or eat avocado with it. Water is perfectly fine for getting the pill down.
    * *The "With Food" Rule:* You often hear "take with food" because if you take a dry tablet on a totally empty stomach, you might miss out on absorption. But with **oil capsules**, the fat is already included in the pill.

*Bottom Line:* Pop the oil capsule with a glass of water. It’s safe, and your body will get what it needs.

  2. If have eaten your meal and just take a bit of water to just take the pill, then you don't have any problem. There is a lot of fat in your stomach from the meal to dilute D.

  3. I used to believe this. Then I intentionally took Vitamin D3 without any fat in my diet for 4 months. My labs still showed the same increase in levels of D as when I paired with fat. Anecdotal, sure. I just think its not a good thing to tell Americans to live optimally because these people arent even doing basic health habits. They will grab coffee and skip 8 months of vitamin D, because they cant find a fat to pair it with, which will cause more harm than not absorbing it optimally.
