The MANY Removed Items of Mario Maker 2

Super Mario Maker 2 is filled to the brim with a ton of different items and features to help creators make their stages. However, Nintendo wasn’t able to add EVERY item they wanted into the game. In the files there is evidence of MANY features and items that were developed for the game but were ultimately removed before the official release. These can be enemies, sound effects, platforms, and even power-ups! So today I thought it would be fun to talk about what some of these deleted items were and if I want to see them return for Super Mario Maker 3!

maybe the costume would have let you play as a Nippler Plant, in Super Mario Bros 3 they are often paired with Munchers. Anyway it's not like it HAS to make sense as there are many costumes of objects that realistically can't move either (or be underwater in the case of Inklings)

  2. 25:53 one of things that makes me love Odyssey Central so much is how he is a fellow profasia gaming hater because I hate his spoiler thumbnails and I will never forgive him for spoiling so many games for me and so many others including my goat

  3. 19:32 Here, it looks like the giant stone crushed Mario's fucking foot! And 19:49, This would've destroyed his head in real life! Also, I guess it makes sense that it disappears in the SMB1 style, since you can't hold things in that one (or the original NES game).

  4. I had to check the Just a Normal, Everyday Castle claim. It's real. What on earth.

I just want to point out that the Dizzy sound effect in SMM1 was just a "yem yoom" type of thing. It was NOT a distorted version of the beginning of the Super Mario Bros. ground theme. However, it would apply a distortion effect to the music that sounds like the same effect that is used in the SMM2 sound effect, so there does seem to be a connection.

I don't know whether to believe that they left the sound effect in by accident. It seems bizarre no matter how you look at it.

  5. This might be a bit far-fetched, but I think the texture is from the rotating logs in NSMBU, which first appear in Soda Jungle-6. Maybe the original plan was to have rotating platforms with customizable speeds ranging from slow to fast? I'm not really sure, though. It does feel a bit far-fetched. 27:01
