We always hear about this giant wars between these crazy races in destiny lore, why not make a game mode where you play as those races against other races and just so it's fair make it random what you get once you load in. It could even be destiny own version of a flash game inside d2, imagine playing as a ogre or even a tormenter.

I think bringing Destiny 1 to PC and other platforms, whether through a port or a full remake, is not a smart move. I believe there's a much bigger opportunity here than simply bringing back the original game for nostalgia's sake.
What if, instead of developing Destiny 3, Bungie used a Destiny 1 remake as the foundation for the future of the entire franchise?
I'm talking about rebuilding Destiny 1 from the ground up, not just visually, but structurally and technically. A completely modernized architecture and codebase designed from the beginning to support continuous expansion, new content, and long-term narrative development.
Essentially, Destiny 1 would become the starting point of a new, unified Destiny experience rather than just a standalone remake. From there, Bungie could progressively expand the game, potentially reintroducing and reimagining the events of Destiny 2 within this new framework, allowing players to experience the entire journey in a more cohesive and interconnected way.
Instead of constantly moving from one sequel to another, you'd have a single evolving platform capable of preserving the franchise's history while continuously pushing its story forward.
To me, that's a far more interesting direction than simply releasing Destiny 3 or remaking Destiny 1 as a one-off project. It would be an opportunity to rebuild Destiny's foundations while creating something designed to grow and evolve for years to come.

I hope they aren't just using destiny as a cash cow to dig themselves out of the marathon hole. If that's the case they will support destiny for a year or so then if marathon take off they will abandon it again…

People who aren’t in that side of the workforce don’t understand how much ai is used now for menial tasks like sifting through databases.
I hope it's D1 for pc, but there's a risk that "wonder if it will do well" is only meant to be a joke about D1 already being out. But why would he make a joke like that, knowing it would be misinterpreted? Therefore, D1 ON PC BABY!
Honestly don't get the whole "we're so back!" hype right now. They're bringing back old content we've already played…for free. Cool, we've already played it so…who cares? And it's free so…how are Bungie going to make MONEY now? How are they staying open as a business? How have Sony OK'd all this with their hundreds of millions lost? For the players it makes sense, for the business it makes no sense.
Whilst quietly developing d3, my dream/masterplan would be:
1) Simplify things, remaster D1 and combine into one game with D2 keeping the sandbox, art style and gameplay of D1, and rename to destiny forever or something like that.
2) Optimise file size of the installs of both games massively.
3) Have all guns and MP maps available, but for players with not much storage give them the options of which campaigns they want to install and uninstall for each game
4) Shut down D1 servers but give players the option of importing their progress across to the remaster (if possible)
5) Bring back grimoire cards across D1 AND D2 (I loved being able to track and read these on my phone and the 'achievement' style) and link them with the in-game triumphs, lore books and collections
6) Roll out the main story beats and best modes from the seasonal content from D2 into its own short campaign
7) Bring back holiday events
I loved D1 so much. Loot was a lot rarer to get which made it feel so rewarding when you dropped what you needed. But also there was no fomo so you always felt you had to time to do what you needed

Ifthey ever did remaster D1 I hope they have the raids as they were when they initially came out. I would love to solo crota again.
I'm still trying to figure out how people are taking unvaulting content as being "back". Same issues that gutted the studio is still present with a parent company managing multiple crisis in their gaming division. They aren't going live. They can't. There is no back, we're just getting the full game finally.
One thing I really want for a potential d1 rerelease/remaster is i want planet-side maps. I started d1 for the first time recently and I get so lost all the time without a map, I never know where anything is
I liked the weapon and resource grind. It was a great reason to do patrols and trying new weapons. Get your bounties, get a few test weapons from Banshee, load into patrol, pop your Three of coins, public events, Taken world bosses (remember those?)… Get xp for weapons and armour, dismantle the ones you don't like for motes of Light, upgrade the ones you do like… It was a great MMO-like loop.
