14:30 Releasing the trailer is a stunt for the dev team to put the thought out there. It's not the first time devs have done this when they knew they or their project was about to get canned. This is a plea for some studio to pick them up and get the game working again. The devs are now free to be hired by anyone afterall.
But Bioware has not been the same studio that created the OG Mass Effect series, that's been their entire problem these past 3 releases. So, even if a different studio picks them up, it's the same failures being hired.
If I was head of a studio, I wouldn't go anywhere near recent ex-Bioware devs.

Notice how the Xbox series X and S haven't been jailbroken yet, it kind of makes you wonder who is behind the hacking.
It might not such a bad deal when physical editions launch long after their digital releases because what you get on the disk will be much more complete, assuming that the patched version of the game will be what you get on the disk at that later date. What good is a game on a disk that is a buggy mess that requires a day one patch and many subsequent patches to fix issues?

Spawn, you have to stop running defense for these companies. It can hurt your credibility. The company is not going to spend $500 million anticipating a game going to be a flop. This was corporate speak so far as to not throw the companies decisions under the bus.

Xbox developed an amazing game which is a statement even if it's not breaking even. Microsoft has money like stupid and they are not giving up gaming. They will dominate gaming. I know Nintendo might have made game key cards and they might be litigious, but right now there’s only one company immediately trying to eliminate physical discs so if any efforts towards preservation are being made, they should definitely be made towards the games from that company.

On one hand I'm happy that all this crap is getting hacked, like screw these large companies they're pissing off everybody with everything they're doing. Specifically Sony. Console sales are probably up because of the future price increases. I bought my Switch 2 in Canada during August to avoid price increase, haven't even used it yet as a Switch 2. But recently I saw it was exact price but a different bundle. I got a Costco bundle came with 256gig card, 1 year of highest tier of online subscription. Now Costco has same price but with Mario Kart bundle. Honestly I would have preferred Mario Kart.
Spending $500 million and expecting the game to be profitable at all? Gaming is in it's era of "old Hollywood decline". When the studios were monopolies and thought they were too big to fail. Then in the late 60s filmaking got democratized by young creatives like Francis Coppola, George Lucas, Martin Scorsese, etc. Which changed and saved the industry… Who's gonna be the young rebels that dismantles this system?
