The console convenience has completely disappeared when so many point of failure are now present as well on consoles then they are present on pc. It completely defeats the console first pretense of convenience. The console rather then distancing itself from the pc, has come closer and closer to all the options and complexity of pc rather then the other way around. And on pc, there is a lot of launchers that does the opposite like Steam, and auto configure your game for optimized and streamlined experience from the get go when steam's knows your computer configuration / setup.
