We’ve got another wild breakthrough in the PS5 jailbreak & hacking scene. The PS1, PS2, and PS3 emulators are all allowing the use of original discs! SwanStation needs an external USB disc drive that can read CD’s, but you actually can use original PlayStation discs on a PS5 console. PCSX2 runs games beautifully on PS5, and you can copy the games to local storage too, right from the stock drive. And then yes, PS3 games. RPCS3 is starting to get brought over and while compatibility is rough, it’s there. And it takes discs too. Let’s discuss the question: Sony could’ve done this the whole time?! Yeaaaah unfortunately business gonna business. So I’m gonna talk, cause me talk. But no english good.

It took PC users with the most freedom to give PlayStation users with the least freedom to use their system to the FULLEST!
For sure this is a nice to have feature but I wonder how many people are truly interested in playing their old games on their ps5.
I would love see sony go to court and the judge ask them, if the ps5 can play these games etc why are you restricting them, plus it would make a alot of space in your living room one console instead of 3 consoles and wires everywhere etc, i just wanna play ps1 upto ps5 games on one console I dont wanna jailbreak it

It’s actually funny how much big tech companies have been pushing AI down our throats as the “future”., yet get mad when it’s used on them.

The singular reason I left PS is because the PS5 was not backwards compatible and didn’t buy one. Sony lost me as a customer for this reason alone.
This simple feature is something I would've bought the PS6 for, even at inflation prices

If someone could add software for 3d blu ray playback, that would be awesome. I still use my ps4 to watch movies in 3d on psvr. The image would look even better on psvr2
