The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim contains a series of sparse and easily ignored references to a mysterious, powerful figure known as “The Matriarch” who seems to exercise a strange amount of power over the Forsworn of the Reach. Today we investigate!
Huge thanks to @theHoardingHero for Angof’s ESO shots!

Huge love to you nate, please never stop, thanks for everything, and look after yourself!
Nate but did Tiber Septim really conquer all of tamriel and summeset archipelago? I mean, the aldmeri dominion was a thing before and after the Septim empire lived and died
Here’s hoping they have a dedicated quest line in Sentinel tracking down the Matriarch. Who knows, they could definitely be in Hammerfell 😂
Love your vids llol
Crazy coincidence cause I just watched the original video yesterday
I'd be cool if epic nate updated all his lore videos ✌️💯💯
I assume that the reason why the body of the assassin was preserved was due to a combination of temperature and magic. There is no doubt that the room where he is found is cold due to the location of the ruins. The "magic" aspect is my own assumption due to the fact that the lever to open the secret door only appears AFTER the reading of the Olava's Token. So, there's got to be some mystic reason for this. One can also assume that this assassin of old knew of this mystic aspect to the door and decided to hide the treasure there. As to why he locked himself in, I can only assume that he decided to stay behind as a last line of defense. All that said, it would've made more sense if his body was mummified.
Hey how's it going Nate? It's guys here
@epicnate, thank you for your Skyrim lore videos! Its been a delight to listen while I work, or other various tasks! I hope you continue as TES6 arrives!
Nothing better to wake up to than an hour-long EpicNate video ❤️
Voice/microphone sounds a little different than usual.
Loved reopening the mystery!
We got news of the Matriarch before GTA/TES VI
5:11:00 bro misgendered the matriarch. do better
Always love EpicNate, he is my favorite passtime person to watch.
Skyrims
Any Skyrim faction occupying a stone fort or castle should really invest in gates, instead of wooden spiked fence. Even the orcs have figured this one out.
Hey Nate it's Nate here.
Keep up the good Nate.
A new skyrim video Ty!
You can make all the videos you want. But you'll never be able to go to the Cloud District.
can i just pour a glass of delicious lemonade and not booze instead… XD and inhale all these sweet rolls….
I wonder if they were setting up for making the Forsworn a faction you could join during the civil war but it got scrapped. That would've been awesome, and could tie in the jail break mission in Markarth, maybe making that your in with the Forsworn. Or if you married the other Hagraven
17:42 Difficult? 3 words. Fus ro dah
Would love a mod that adds a deeper forsworn questline, madonach v matriarch. Basically a mini civil war
Personally i believe the matriarch could possibly be the king in rag’s wife or potentially a surviving religious leader. These two do work together, but since Skyrim happens in a relatively short span, perhaps the matriarch was unaware that the king had escaped from the mine. And to explain the” it may take years” I believe that that basically means that he will have to to reunite the forsworn during the war and after Markarth has been taken
Hey Nate, what happened to videos on real history? I really enjoyed them, and they were stories I've seen nowhere before
