An all-new entry in the Onimusha series!

Fight through bloodstained battlefields of intense swordplay action. Explore the historic Japanese capital of Edo-period Kyoto, twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice.
With every stage cloaked in mystery, danger and intrigue. Battle against monstrosities from the underworld known as Genma in a tale of dark fantasy.
Follow the tale of a samurai who wields the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artifact that grants its bearer the power to slay Genma.
Through gritty, blood-soaked brawls, he searches for his reason to fight. What fate awaits at the end of his path?
The Protagonist, Miyamoto Musashi

An ardent samurai who arrives in Kyoto looking to prove that he is unmatched in the way of the sword. However, the path before him takes a strange and unexpected turn.

The protagonist of this game is a fierce young samurai, constantly moving from one bloody and gritty fight to the next. To cement this image of a striking samurai, Capcom has turned to none other than the late, iconic Japanese samurai movie legend Toshiro Mifune to star as the face model for this rendition of Miyamoto Musashi.
Action

Equipped with an Oni Gauntlet, Musashi is granted power beyond human limits. Besides giving him the strength needed to cut down the Genma, it also holds numerous other abilities, such as being able to absorb Genma souls and convert them into a power source to further enhance its wearer. But who is behind the voice that rings out from the gauntlet?
Genma

Usually found dwelling in the lowest depths of hell, the Malice enveloping Kyoto has brought these fiends into the world of the living. Their ceaseless atrocities have plunged the capital into a state of dread and panic.
Formidable Foes

In his battle against the Genma threat, Musashi will face powerful opponents whose martial prowess rivals his own. Will he triumph, or die trying? Bloody duels to the death await in the capital.
Setting

The game is set in Kyoto, home to countless shrines and temples, such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Twisted by Malice, the face of the capital starts to take on an eerie and foreboding appearance.

  1. Seeing a lot of questions about enemy aggression in Onimusha. You won't ever see high aggression from the basic enemies. They're the equivalent of basic fodder like hollows in Souls games.

Late game you'll have multiple archetypes to handle concurrently. Ranged guys, enemies that love grab attacks, rolly polly dudes that run up on your shit, dudes that are more dodge focused, dudes that are more parry focused, etc.

The challenge is strongest in boss fights, and out in the world it'll be from dealing with multiple different types of enemies simultaneously.

If you plan is to try and Issen everything you will absolutely spend time waiting for basic fodder to attack, it just is what it is.

  2. Graphically Capcoms best graphics is crazy to say. I think you got on rose gold colored glasses because you enjoy the other parts of the game a lot. But imo this is one of capcoms worst graphically in recent years.

  3. 6:22 – 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪'𝘴 𝘖𝘯𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘩𝘢 – 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘢𝘸𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦. 𝘊𝘢𝘱𝘤𝘰𝘮 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘦.

  4. The game is cinematic which is great visually
But the potential negative is the "scripted" aspect because you can't deviate from the loop which can be a turn off for some players exactly why Sekiro didn't click for some.
It can also be a positive for players because it's scripted and eventually any average player can perform and have a sense of mastery

  5. The human boss fight in the demo felt really good to parry and fight, the hub gameplay looks boring and washed out graphics. Getting mixed feelings about it. Obviously the strong card the game have is the boss fights, we´ll see friday 🫡 good review

  6. Preset M is particularly for Dlss Performance. I bet it’d look better if you chose a different preset like K but frame gen has to have vsync turned on via the Nvidia app or control panel to work properly not the actual game. Either way your reviews are always mint and constructive and they’re always appreciated. Thanks for another one big dawg.

  7. Looks completely sick. With regard to framerates, even on my RTX 5090 I rarely find any reason to play on DLAA anymore, DLSS Quality is indistinguishable from DLAA while playing imo (and you could also adjust it with RHI from 75% to e.g. 80 or 85%). So I think some small upscaling to get 100 FPS might be worth it in reaction intensive games like this.

  8. Sorry but in the first few seconds, you stating the combat is amazing etc while 2/3 enemies currently in combat are just standing there not even trying to touch you? I'm not convinced.

EDIT: You know what, I've never played an Onimusha game before. Maybe that's just the style of the game. The animations do look great.

  9. I played the demo, and all i thought was, I really wanna keep playing. Been awhile since I felt that way with a game. This is a very satisfying game combat wise, and ive only played the demo. I cannot wait to get this game. Glad to have your seal of approval, I figured as much anyways lol. Hell yeah man! Capcom really showing up lately, crazy!

  10. My only complaint is why is the health bar yellow and the posture bar red? I wish we could change this. I'm getting so confused playing the demo like everyone knows red is health.

  11. currently contemplating between this one and crimson desert esp cause it's on sale and had a nice update. which do you think is more fun and worth the buck? currently finishing platinum on ms2. thank you!

  12. Combat is so stylish. Really sold me with secret demo boss. So many great sword fighting games coming out recently. Mortal shell 2, this and phantom blade coming soon. We are eating good.

  13. I feel like I’m going crazy here with all these comments on the demo. I played it a while back and disliked it, just replayed it again tonight. The combat feels so clunky and unresponsive, parrying feels delayed and the sluggish movement whilst blocking was just off putting. If the full game feels that way then I’ll prolly pass on it

  14. Is the whole world this dull and bland or just this area. I feel like the only color I’m seeing that isn’t muted brown/green hue is the character or particle effects or attacks. I’m already bored with the area you’re at here in this video and I’m only at the 11minute mark.
