  1. The rifts don't open randomly in the overworld. From the dungeons 2 trailer we know that the evil illagers create them after discovering the required magic in the sift or stuff.
    Hope that helps :).

  2. I am glad they're finally adding a new dimension. A downside to new biomes constantly is you end up having to hunt them down and it makes it hard to enjoy playing a world for more than a couple updates

  3. Another thing to consider is that the Skulk to some level come FROM The Sift, whether it’s a mutation of whatever it originally was or if it just is still the Skulk ok that side. We might even have to start at the bottom of the Sift and make our way to the surface when it comes to the main game possibly bringing forth an immediate threat as you enter (maybe a form of boss or maybe just an environment that is dangerous). The sift could also lead into more magic type things being added, in fact the introduction to it being through dungeons could be to give us the chance to question what is going to come to base game, and maybe even see what of the shown features of the dimension players and creators that have been playing the game for years get excited about

  4. We need to stop making everything about taking it back to the overworld and have the other dimensions be usable as your default dimension.
I spend most of my time in the nether now that you can respawn there, and I hope the Sift will feature a respawn mechanic from release on.

  5. Im not going to lie, I am a bit disappointed that the warden portal leads to a place that looks completely different from the environment you find the warden in. Maybe there is a specific biome, but i still am unsure about this.

  6. I think that mojang should make it so when you go into the sift you stay there forever but you can bring all your items or the rifts will spawn in small hills

  7. The drop system was definitely introduced to give themselves more time to add the Sift, I think they probably assumed it would buy them 2 years instead of the usual 1, hence why they kept "1.21.x" for so long, before realising they needed another year, and also the drop system was working well and could continue beyond the Sift update. Had they announced it a year ago, it would probably have been announced as 1.22 (or even 2.0? given it's potentially as big an update to the game as release 1.0 was with the End).

  8. My headcanon is that most players wanted the end to become the lush alien world we know from MC Dungeons. But Mojang wants to keep it a barren wasteland (which doesn't mean there won't be biomes, just compare it to desert biomes).
So, to give us what we wanted, they made a new place entirely. We're getting our lush alien world, just not in the end

  9. Hopefully–and I mean I REALLY hope–that the Sift is why Mojang have been so hush and coy about these mid updates. Hopefully now they can be more forthcoming because I anticipate this gives them a bunch of new content to announce going forward. The End will probably get an overhaul as a side effect of all the other dimension tech going into the Sift.
