  1. So, after all these years, the mancubis was telling me "quiet" every time I used my shotgun on him? This whole time, he just wanted me to not make such a noise.

  2. RIP Bobby 🫶

Hope everyone stuck around to the very end after the patreon shout outs! 👀😅 That was great and really put a smile on my face, hope you and the whole pumpkin fam are well and thank you for all the videos!!

  3. Someone in near future will just feed some AI model all these old sound assets, and train it to match every sound of Doom, and get 100% matches on all of them!

  4. Yellow thumbnail!!!
    Edit:
Great video as always. Terrible to hear Bobby has passed away. He was part of one of the greatest games ever made. What a legend.

    Thanks for the video, Decino

  5. The Arachnotron walking sound COULD be an orchestral sting hit, like what one would find on a Casio or similar model of keyboard synthesiser around this time…

  6. I'm pretty sure Elmer Fudd is the correct source of that sound effect. Check out 'Realms of Chaos' – a neat little platformer from Apogee (1995) with breathtaking art. Bobby Prince did the music on this game, and apparently sounds as well. The frogs in the second episode of this game use the same sound effect, only less sped-down.

  7. 8:04 Hit the nail the head here. I'm certain that, in addition to all the clipping and time stretching, Bobby threw some more traditional effects and EQ on as well – I can definitely hear added reverbs on some. It doesn't take much of that to make a sound unrecognisable.

  8. Creating a simple FX chain that emulates that lower bit depth and rate of the game may help the chase? At least, it's easier to confirm that a sound really was used if a bit of simple audio manipulation makes it fairly spot-on.

  9. You know, that high pitch servo on arachnotron walk sounds a lot like the first half of the stock servo motor 03 to me. Sure that's not a match if you cut that first part out and mess with it?
