Scott becomes a true retro gamer, i.e., he has a lot of free time to spend thousands of dollars.

That dang ole Pixel Predator trying add polygrams to everything, good thing we got the Pixel Protector
I think I'll just stick to Retroarch on my TV
One of the best Halloween specials
Was kinda hoping you'd touch on stuff like Anbernic's emulator handhelds. Some of the cheap ones are surprisingly powerful and are an incredibly easy way to experience older games when you may not have the room or budget for the OG systems.
It´s so funny how much of the video just got outdated by like a few weeks while this video was probably very long in the making and nothing has changed for many months before that…
I agree that Analogue is the best all in one solution to play retro games very acurately although the "no emulation" claim is more marketing than technical… I own the analogue GamBoy, N64, NES, SNES and Mega Drive. I love them all, i love that it works with original cartridges, everdrives, original controllers, and since it allows you to use original cartridges and make savestates it means you can now preserve your savefiles forever instead of loosing them when a games battery runs out or something… so cool…
Yes the SNES, NES and Mega Drive were unavailable for years, just last week or something they announced the SNES and Mega Drive are back in production and I think they were purchasabel on monday this week.
The second thing that just got outdated a few weeks ago is the retrotink 5X.
Yes it is still great, yes the 4k is a little better but a new go to option was introduced with the RetroTINK-6X CE which does basically everything you would want from your 5X but for way less money.
So this + a few scart cables is the way to go for original hardware.
😂😂😂

0:07 Golden reference
That first 25 seconds is pretty much my retro gaming hobby lol
I've bought the banger games, modded consoles, OSSC, everdrives and i had so much fun tinkering with them and get the best possible picture out of them.
When it was time to play games… who has time for those? LOL
hey whats the music at 22:36
Emulating games, for me, is like using cheats in games. You work hard to accomplish a goal, it feels good. You put in a cheat to get everything, suddenly theres no reason to play anymore. Emulation feels the same way. It's not a matter of access, I could emulate every retro game on a dozen devices for more then a decade at this point. When I buy them, hold them and play them on original hardware I just appreciate the experience more and tend to actually play them. When I use an emulator with a front end with every game ever made ready to go, I tend to look around and move on. Everyone is different, but that is how it works for me.
Unfortunately the games I like are near impossible to emulate. Gigapets plug and play… Didj… Leapster… The old SSO games…
Oh well, at least I can collect my Tetris ports because every official game emulator I've found has a version. I love Tetris so I keep getting more.
18:30 the acting for this bit is top fucking notch
You using the Atari Joystick like a thumb stick hurt me every time you did it, it’s a joy stick you have to grip that thing
2:04 ANCIENT pull right there
53:04 this is actually something I hear a lot and want to clear up. Analogues consoles ARE emulation. The FPGA chip emulates the original gates of the chip and can deliver higher level accuracy and near perfect replication of the original console. But FPGA is still emulation, just a different style of emulation. Analogue has been saying their systems are “no emulation” for so long that people have genuinely started to believe that it’s true. Their first ever console they made that used salvaged chips from the Famicom and NES with an FPGA inside for handling HD video output could be considered a no emulation device. But any thing past that initial release is still doing a hardware level emulation. Extremely accurate. But still emulation.
31:40 SCOTT!!!! WE BUY THINGS FOR WHAT THEY DO! NOT FOR WHAT THEY COULD DO!!
2:20 I really hope there was a fluffed up pillow behind that table..
I got to watch The Pixel Protector before this video released! XD
Edit:
OH GOD HE'S DEAD
