🎤 Lyrics: John Anderson – Seminole Wind
Ever since the days of old
Men would search for wealth untold
They’d dig for silver and for gold
And leave the empty holes
And way down south in the Everglades
Where the black water rolls and the sawgrass waves
The eagles fly and the otters play in the land of the Seminole
So blow, blow Seminole wind
Blow like you’re never gonna blow again
I’m calling to you like a long lost friend
But I know who you are
And blow, blow from the Okeechobee
All the way up to Micanopy
Blow across the home of the Seminole
The alligators and the gar
Progress came and took its toll
And in the name of flood control
They made their plans and they drained the land
Now the Glades are going dry
And the last time I walked in the swamp
I stood up on a Cypress stump
I listened close, and I heard the ghost of Osceola cry
So blow, blow Seminole wind
Blow like you’re never gonna blow again
I’m calling to you like a long lost friend
But I know who you are
And blow, blow from the Okeechobee
All the way up to Micanopy
Blow across the home of the Seminole
The alligators and the gar

We're paying tribute to the legendary John Anderson, the Florida native and Country Music Hall of Famer, who passed away last night with one of his signature songs
God I forgot how great this song is.
This should be Florida’s state song 🌴☀️🐊🌊
Listening to his music the past couple of days brought back so many memories. Rest easy legend!
RIP John
Since a kid I always loved Seminole Wind
I'll continue till I'm dead ❤
My favorite person. We all have tears as you are in the arms of God.
Hey people is it just me. I love this song I really do. But everytime I heard this song. I felt it was incomplete. I don't know why I just felt there was more to the story John was trying to put out there and more to the song. If i'm wrong tell me..
❤😢😢😢
The BEST country song ever!
We lost a true LEGEND. 💔💐💔 All these years singing this song, I sang, "… and alligators in the *yard!*" Missing you music man.

It’s ok. We’d need to vote from a list for a state song. Don’t think this would be it.

this song will always be in my heart i grew up in east tx on the border of Louisiana and it just reminds me of my home even though this song is about Florida you’d have to be here to understand what i’m trying to say it’s part of the deep south and very swampy with alligators 🐊 and just always hits home . Loved John Anderson my all time favorite country singer ❤What a loss ! But what a legacy
