some notes for those who care:

    1. bfb + minigun interaction:

to be honest i originally intended to make revving the minigun set you to the slow walking speed (or slow you down by a percentage but the point is it would slow you down) no matter what, but i did a showcase-livestream before i got to finish that and viewers overwhelmingly said "this (super speed minigun) is really funny you should leave it" so we settled on "run the experiment and nerf bfb + minigun if it is ACTUALLY that OP"

    2. why is this experiment "so tame", it's basically the first one?

creating the mod already took multiple months so my plan was to just run something "simpler", then ramp up to the crazier stuff later – possibly 6 (or more) weapons and/or allowing cross-class building/disguise/watches, since both of these would be a ton more work and bug fixing and etc (on top of what was already a time consuming project).

but i didn't expect writing this video (the one you're watching right now) to be such a convoluted process and it also ended up being long as hell lol. i'm fine with the final result but i rewrote and scrapped a few iterations of this video :'(

    3. why did this take so long?

writing was a mess and i'm also just bad at making long videos tbh. i started off on YT doing short 2-4 mins stuff and my process was fine for that. but doing much more complicated projects now and making 30 min videos (that could easily be longer still too, there was a lot i could still talk about), my process doesn't scale well and there's stuff i need to get better at doing so it doesn't take sooo much time in the future.

an example is my literal performance of the voice over – the way i do it often accidentally creates problems that i have to solve in post. i need to go buy a few things that will hopefully help reduce the chances of problems cropping up and i don't blow a week fixing the recording and etc, but i'll need to experiment and test it out

    anyways that's all thanks 🙂

PS. the next video i want to make is different to what i usually do and it might be long and/or take time to figure out too, so there's a decent chance i don't publish a video until next year o_o (but hopefully not though)

  2. It was kinda interesting seeing the problem speed heavies presented, knowing how it would get solved, and then hearing about three other attempted solutions before the players realized what the video's introduction had made obvious.

  3. what i love about these kinds of videos from shounic is it feels like the tf2 version of the Cambrian explosion, where it starts with a bunch of weird and unoptimized builds quickly evolve to become the dominate 'species'

  4. I wonder if anyone tested out hitmans heatmaker, sticky jumper, and the base jumper on heavy. its like a minigun but you deal better damage and you don't need to get close
