In the news this week, we talk about the NVIDIA RTX Spark announcement, mostly focused on its insanely expensive laptops for “AI” use cases (or is that Super Intelligence?). We also cover rising CPU prices and hardware prices, SoftBank wanting another $100 billion for its AI buildout and data centers, GTA VI coming to PC sooner than expected, and the PlayStation 5 hack to support PS2 discs natively.

CORRECTIONS:
24:27 – In an off-hand comment, we incorrectly stated that “both” the 5090 and PRO 6000 use 3GB memory modules. Of the two, only the PRO 6000 does. We have removed the erroneous comment with the trim tool and are leaving this as a transparent record of the change.

Can't wait for the future of AI "agents" playing games for us so we can all stop wasting time doing dumb stuff, like having fun and relaxing, and instead contribute more to the shareholder value!

Unfortunately and fortunately the Bubble will explode and since AI is being backed by governments, banks, and our largest companies, and the fact it is in every company, the stock market will flip on its head soon and everyone will suffer because you're $1 will be worth $0.01. I have no idea how the government will prevent this from occurring or get us off the ground once we crash into the mountain side
Lol Steve was calling it SB energy a little Easter egg of a Chinese joke?
2:43 "Nice computer you have there, it'd be a shame if something happened to it"
I'm glad that i quit gaming a long time ago
GTA IV launch first on pc is an indication that it was rigged on development, and it will suffer a disasterous launch, and the the console version is a low graphics, low res, low framerate, long loading times version.
Don’t worry, someone will do TheftCraft of gta and it’ll be on PC within a month.
This RTX Spark presentation is basically the "Let them eat cake" of the tech world.
The Edison / Tesla bit… omfg what kind of dumbass simulation are we actually in
Thomas Edison is a lot more fitting as a comparison to Musk because both Edison and Musk are assholes, Nikola Tesla wanted to power the world for free, so no Musk is nothing like the man the car company that musk didnt found is named after
Since nobody can reach a consensus on what to call it, I'm just going to call it what it is, machine learning. AI has become a meaningless buzzword over the past several decades and "SI" is just the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard come out of someone's mouth and that's really saying something.
It still isn't anywhere near being what most people think of when they think "AI". It won't be that until quantum computing matures and someone solves the sparsity problem. It "thinks" by extreme over-thinking. That's not how human intelligence works. At the end of the day, it is just putting the words together based on the statistical probability of a given token coming next. Not even whole words. Just letter pairs. That's it. People have been using some form of machine learning for decades. My dad was using it for engineering data analysis in the late '70s. Yeah, it was really primitive but still technically machine learning.
Jensen is gonna end up getting Brian Thompsoned if he keeps paying with gamers like this.
According to my fellow tech co-workers, Spark is purely aimed at people who already dump thousands in AI tokens on the regular. The selling point being that these goddawfully expensive laptops are actually a savings in the long run…assuming their AI can do what you need as well as the cloud based systems.
In other words, it's for AI bros, by AI bros. And they can name whatever price they want. There is no use for regular people, any more than an apartment resident needs a riding mower. Honestly, my biggest sense of betrayal is from ASUS, shifting their ProArt laptops to Spark. I don't want to pay more for a laptop that runs my art apps worse, just because it caters to AI slop producers!
At somepoint it's more efficient to plug ourselves into a hive mind, it's inevitable. Maybe we're already tethered together.
The 5080 24GB will soon best about $5000…. so what's the damn point.
Saying it looked like a lineup of Mr. Robot villains was on point.
Remember Apple's "WhaAt's a cOmPuteR?" ad campaign? This reminds me of that. It's shit. This is shit. So I can get a machine to run AI agents… OK, for what? Why do I need it? Why do I need AI?
I fuckin' don't.
what does that…MEAN?
DonaldTrump is an industry plany, get him off presidency, the goverment and peoples money.
Your gta v optimization guide is absolutely when I found your channel. Still here!
They don't care about human lives, what makes anyone think they will EVER care about trees or animals. They openly say they are gonna kill us all eventually. By AI, or draining the planet. They say it often too. They want to do it and they don't care. Trees? Ha. They would love it if our planet looked like Mars or Dune (as long as they can make all the money in the world)
it will go the way of the vision pro
I work in AI for a big tech company. Fucking love the spark. It solves all the issues with AI spend lol
just like every industry inside a bubble, they're putting the nails in their own coffin and they don't even realise it.
I hope build data centers in northern VA and they would have cool names for the projects, one was called Goliath
Legislation forcing hardware companies to allocate ram, gpus etc to consumer channels is required.
