19:20 VGC players are soooo close to discovering Smogon Tiers
The quality of your videos always amaze!
Great video Wolfey, but I just have one thing I had to say, you might do it by accident but please please please don't use generative AI in your video wolfey, thank you 🙏
Woof woof…please upload your casual daily gameplays..no need edits ..just wanna see your games
2:37 dont forget Simone Lim ❤
Back then when I was a kid, I watched Ash release his Butterfree to be with his partner. Kid me was a sobbing mess and I couldn’t let go of my Butterfree. I didn’t care how bad or weak it was. I wanted to beat the Elite Four and Blue with my Butterfree. I love this Pokemon very much. Love the video as always Wolf ❤
POKEMON NEEDS MORE DOUBLE BATTLES IN THE MAIN LINE GAMES
Just as some constructive feedback,, at the beginning you're trying to envoke feelings of nostalgia/emotion, but your tone/cadence of voice is the exact same as always (very informative/neutral), you're painting a nostalgic picture with the same brush you would tell us what the ability VoltAbsorb does in battle. I think moments like the beginning would have leave more of an imprerssion if you could try to tell it in a more impactful way, i think experimenting with different cadences for those kinds of sections will go a long way :]
I never made use of any of the early mons back in gen 1. Bulbasaur just assrammed everything and it got even easier when you learn razor leaf.
The gameboy and GBA frames used in this video brought back so much nostalgia. 10/10 they look amazing too, good job editor!
Have been seeing a lot of folks dropping roms into ai looking for new never found before glitches
I have never played competitive but butterfree was in my team when I finished alola recently. It is a great help when I want to catch pokemon with sleep powder and poison powder. The Bug and Wind Z crystals were helpful and psybeam helped as well. Pokemon refresh was a great feature since loyalty would make a Pokemon hold on or even evade attacks at a decent rate.
As a gen 1er butterfree is always a mainstay for me. Just started sword and butterfree is already on my team. Thanks for this video. This will be helpful for my play through💛
Like if you turned your butterfree into your primary pokemon catcher
The trick was to not let it evolve for one level because then it remembers tackle as it evolves to metapod the next level.
can someone explain why togekiss was so strong please togepis my favorite pokemon
09:45 a rare @THATSAplusONE mention on the Wolfey channel. I love when my two favorite VGC content creators collide! I'm glad ThatsA is Butterfree's strongest soldier!
"How a Route 1 Bug Pokémon Became a Champion" It's not a route 1 pokemon tho
I am so sick of seeing almost the same 6 Pokémon on every team in every tournament. Ban half the pokedex and lets see some new teams.
0:05 says blue and shows red.
Bug Month Redux
WOLFIE I CHALLENGE THERE TO A DUEL OF WITS IN THE GAME OF POKEMON!!!
Bug months are the best
when I played Leaf Green, I kept my Butterfree the entire game :') Butter is a Champion
vivilion
thank you for recording this video in that shirt because i remembered that at Some tourney you wore it but i never figured out which and now i have a much better reference for looking for a similar kurta
Wasn’t there a Butterfree team that won 1st place and the opponent was a Glaceon team back at Sword and Shield?
❤
But you can't get it on route one
Thanks 🎉
The answer to the national dex / regional dex / dexit issue is– keep track of usage statistics and dynamically update pokemon stats/moves/abilities based on it. Buff neverused and nerf ubers, until everyone finds a spot in UU and OU. Keep them all alive, and provide a reason for Incineroar to not be on every team. Then you can have all pokemon available and not lose balance. That's the trick to balancing, you have to correct and shift your weight to the other foot.
tbh i'd prefer if they divested regional dexes from competitive seasons entirely so we can have the best of both worlds (more and frequent limited competitive rosters and national dex for casual playthroughs), and maybe we might get it from champions now that pvp is moving there instead of the mainline games. i doubt it, though, because the pokemon company seems hellbent on making you pay to regain access to mons/etc every other game.
relatedly i think we should kick a lot of popular meta defining stuff out of the roster for a couple months here and there just to see what chaos results. i think some fun strategies would show up and it'd be funny to exclude say charizard for a bit.
Amogus joke in 2026. I love ypur content, Wolfey.
Why wasn't this released during Bug Month? Would have been a great capstone.
Metapod is better because he is the president
jokes on you, I took butterfree with me til the end~
Definitely deserving for our butterfree
The intro is the most accurate description i ever heard
7:00t eww those nails tho
There is no problem with having less Pokemon legal in comp formats. The Sword and Shield outcry was (at least for me) because of the flimsy fucking excuses gamefreak had for not having the mons in the game.
