Everytime Xbox or Sony does something dumb, EA always manages to make themselves present.
I think it hurts more that we got that whole Mass Effect will continue thing which was so awesome. Guess we're back to wondering if it will be dead forever now. I'll give it a month, if no new information comes out then I accept it's end.
Honestly I hardly care. The last game I played was ME3 and yeah that bioware were awesome but for me I haven't played a game of theirs since 2012!!!! A lifetime ago

To be fair bioware hasn't been the bioware of legend for a long time that I worked at back in early 2000's. A LOT of key people I know who worked there have left, and the spirit internally, culture had drastically shifted from my understanding from people who still did. I know Joe touched on that, but keeping a studio alive with a new group of people who clearly can't produce the same experiences, isn't exactly a shocking closure.
Its sad that Konami is doing better. Granted they are kinda relying on things like metal gear solid master collections but still

Trust Joe to blame EA (which you can blame for a lot of things validly) for this instead of the fact that Bioware has been putting our ideological slop for decades.
Bioware genuinely changed the gaming industry REGULARLY back in the day. They didnt miss until anthem. Arguably dragon age inquisition but i think it got more shit than it deserved. They made some of the most important and impactful games from my childhood through young adulthood. From baldurs gate 1 and 2, to KOTOR, to dragon age origins and mass effect. They shaped what i looked for in RPGs and gaming as a whole. I know the old guard was long gone, but this still hurts. More than any other studio closure has hit me. It sucks man. They were a truly legendary studio. Im 32, almost 33. They had a 40 year run.
I feel sorry for the people let go but good riddance. They folded to the crying fans with the ending of Mass Effect.
They listed Anthem over Jade Empire in their goodbye message. I can't feel sorry for them after that.

I struggle to think of then last good EA game in the last few years. Battlefield is literally just nostalgia milking right now. Apex is ridiculously sweaty and competitive and greedy. EA has done f all.
