He’s actually so good at the deck building, it’s the playing the cards part where he gets a little fast and loose
I think the deck was class but fiend fireing great defense cards just to kill the test subject ASAP instead of sitting into it (Leap, Iron wave, Panic Button and bash is a good offence) was the cause of the end of the run. There was no reason for that except for impatience. He had great scaling relics so he should have been patient. It was for sho winnable with that deck

Better to play double upgraded lethality > double any attack because that attack will do 150% extra damage instead of 100% damage
