Have never played pikmin and I’m not even sure it’s a game I’d like, but if Schaffrillas ranks something, I watch.
The thing that makes tropical wilds stick out to me is how it’s, as far as I can remember, the only area that has a set goal but lets you really make your own path there. Usually there’s a set general route you have to follow, maybe a split on if you do A then B or B then A, but it’s still one main path you’ll follow. Not the wilds though. You can throw across the broken bridge to set it up early, you can go into the more hidden back area and follow a path around to get there, or you can go back to the crash site and use your new captains to make your way up the back of it. All routes lead to your goal and it’s your choice of which you take!
25:26 you see the extinction theory is seemingly only partially true
The much more likely answer is that ‘earth’ to our various planet exploring characters is an anomalous area that neither fully exists here nor the Pikmin side
We see in a short Pikmin exist in the same area as actual humans but they can’t see the Pikmin
The same is probably true for Olimar and the explorers who can’t see the humans
But the Pikmin do see both so it’s possible the native creature, or at least the Pikmin exist in both sides and the planet is has an unstable to connection to both
The reason Olimar forgot is possibly because the instability changed the timeline while keeping some of his memories and instincts from when he was first there
In 3 Olimar nightmares about him being mortally wounded and carried back to the onion like a dead body which only happens in 1’s bad ending and 4
But in 4 he has dreams of the events in 2 of the debt which no longer happens because 1 hasn’t happened
It’s not a retcon it’s an incomprehensible time paradox that rewrites itself due it’s instability
That is why the humans go from not really existing to being more and more involved in the level and their objectives because the planet is shifting between different points of earth as these explorers arrive more and more
That is why Pikmin 1 never happened because it course corrected on undoing Pikmin 1-3 but remnants of their rxistence remain at least in memories
These 2 sides of the universe were never meant to meet, and that both explains the wraiths intangible presence in our dimensions while adding more questions
Olimar was never supposed to discover PNF-404 and because of that the consequences on us and them are immeasurable
Even worse did the planet will it, was the cause of all these groups crashing was us throughout points of history and they could never figure it out because to them we don’t exist
Is PNF-404 called that not because it is earth but it’s a planet existing on earth at the same time for 2 different realities and that is why so many things are out of place like the wraiths or the balloon bugs that drop bombs
Perhaps the real thing to fear isn’t the creatures or causes for crashes, but the mere consequences of PNF-404 existing to multiple planes at the same time

I guess you could say I'mOnlyHereForPikmin. WOW! Also Hero's Hideaway that high is insane. Hero's is this barren house, that doesn't even look aged in any way.
I remember when I was a kid the forest navel legitimately scared me, just something about the lighting and enemies made me not want to go there but as soon as the list started I was hoping this would be number 1
Distant Tundra is my favourite area because I’m biased towards winter and also I’m a heavy larper who hasn’t ever played any of the Pikmin games, but Primordial Thicket is so cool for me just for Cavern for a King alone. It’s not even my favourite Pikmin 4 area (inexplicably it’s Giant’s Hearth and I can’t even explain it because Serene Shores is right there), but something about the sheer magnitude of Cavern for a King and the beast awaiting you at the bottom truly feels like you’ve escaped into hell.
