I like the Borg reference, cause I really felt like the Ultron drinking whiskey bit felt really First Contact coded to me when the Borg Queen gives Data real skin.
I also think that mephisto will have had a hand in all of it.
VisionQuest is littered with a crazy amount of “hell” and “hellfire” imagery. The painting that Ultron admires is of pain. Ultron can only see their pain. Mephisto thrives on pain and would love to make a deal to bring back that father of AI’s son…. And he does it twice..but not really… only once…. It seems like he fulfilled his contract with JIM….but then Vision… based on the founder of AI… has a son rooted in magic with a soul… so Mephisto twisted the contract to give him a son… but in the way he wanted.. when he wanted.. and not even within the lifetime of the deal maker.
All he wanted was a son. And the original AI wasn’t the Son. Vision has a Son.
And we know from IronHeart that Mephisto loves deals with scientists, ai creators, engineers.

I still don’t understand if Jim Hammond is supposed to be a villain, a hero, or just neutral. I know in the comics he’s a pure hero but I don’t understand what he is in the show
Idk why people forget that vision consciousness is very different than ultron or other AI. The matrix of mindstone is the key difference of vision to others.

My theory Everyone thinks The Client is Jim Hammond, but what if it's actually his creator, Professor Phineas T. Horton, who uploaded his consciousness into the Solar Jewel just like Arnim Zola did in The Winter Soldier? Horton's primitive 1940s tech couldn't handle the data and burned up, so he’s been lying in wait for 80 years for engineering to catch up. He doesn't want to kill Vision—he’s using Paladin to steal Vision's indestructible Vibranium body so he can finally download himself into a perfect, immortal chassis. It creates a perfect mirror to Ultron and Jocasta: an AI trying to become human, while a human mind tries to become a synthetic god. Also the running thing with this is AI was based off of someone so it would make sense that Phineas uploaded himself when time was running out for himself exactly like Zola maybe he was the experiment for Phineas to prove that his mind could be uploaded. What do you think?
