  1. No amount of free will convince me to play a shitty roblox clone of games. Warcraft 3 was the peak of custom game content, Roblox will forever be a shitty minecraft loser clone. We lost demo's, they finally came back and now we lost em again. All because of Roblox and the smoothbrains that play it.

  2. GTA 6 I don't think will get cloned like most other games, not that people won't try but there's no way a game as complex as GTA 6 can effectively be cloned

  3. if you ask me steam should open a service for devs where they apply for putting the game on steam with basically a smaller version of copyright so if any slop shows more than 90% similarities after the actual one gets posted to steam it just gets deleted or something like that

  4. The MOMENT TakeTwo gets a whiff of GTA 6 being decompiled, they’re sending an army of lawyers in tanks to Roblox’s headquarters. Unlike indies, AAA developers have near endless resources to fight these people legally. Indie devs usually don’t so they have to adapt and survive but if someone makes OOT Remake available on PC, Nintendo is sending their lawyers over like the Death Star

  5. 10:42 Multiple people are testing the water with bloodborne running semi natively on pc without an emulator. I have full hope within a few days or a few weeks after release that gta 6 will be out on pc for FREE.

  6. Have to say, u are if not the best content creator featuring news/tech/pol. U do make me sad but thats kd more on the world state than u, great job and seaureusly love everything u touch (no homo) so far, wish u all the best from argentina.

  7. 3:39 Just wait until AI is the better version of your original.

Also not showing demos or previews is kinda moot if they can clone it in less than a day. By day 2 it is the same position, other than maybe you can sort by oldest to find the original.

  8. Nice coverage as usual! I am an indie game dev, left a career in software engineering to do this. A few notes for the community here on some points you brought up.

The shift in the economics of game dev due to AI comes from 2 main angles. One is cloning without decompilation. You can make games resistant to that by being story-rich or having game elements and mechanics interact with each other in complicated, nuanced ways that are not immediately discernible from images or even prompts alone. Unique RPG mechanics, unique net play, etc. The other is decompilation. The risk is not that your game gets decompiled. It's that it gets recompiled (for example to WASM) and hosted somewhere for free. I don't think the biggest threat is being beat to market commercially. No law is going to stop free rehosting because, as the game piracy era showed us, it's like trying to kill a hydra. Steam "killed" piracy because Steam made it more convenient to get a game and have it run, on average, than having to hack around to get a bootleg version working. If someone can now play even a poor version of your game for free, the incentive to pay for your game drops.

Also, about GTA6 and decompilation, GTA6 is not necessarily harder to decompile than any other game. At the lowest level, it's just a bunch of loads, stores, and library calls, like any other game. The GTA binary and total asset size will be enormous, but there is nothing inherently more complicated about its construction.

  9. That is why you have to make a metroidvania with tons of assets. That cannot be copied easily. Sure people try to "copy" or feel inspired by Hollow Knight. But even than it would take years and the result will be different too.

  10. I guess we are just goingto have to make in person clubs for people to share something they made just to prevent it from veing on the internet and letting ai train on it or make a copy.

  11. 12:10 the problem is that you are making a piracy against the people creating the parietal copy when realistically every AI assisted program should have a unique identifier for images and code similar to the yellow dots on a printer paper, and then if the illegal copy is found and was used by a specific AI company it is now on the AI companies fault. So you would sue the AI companies not just the Individual who distributed. It’s similar to the emulator and roms law (but actually enforced)

Which is a win for people because it creates an environment where restrictions are put into place for monetary reasons instead of “the good will of our human heart”

You can tell Doug Doug that this is the way we can actually fix the US economy and debt because the government could sue these companies. Then everyone can get that $5K check in the mail, easy win by the administration
