R.I.P. Eric Bauza the voice of a lot of the Looney tunes characters even though it was not mention.
Stop motion is successful if there's a major studio or director/producer behind it.
Wildwood's biggest problem, imo, the trailers didn't explain what the story is about.
If Disney had bought Wildwood, it would've been huge.
If Disney did a live action Toy Story but did the toys stop motion, THAT would be H U G E.
Wildwood should have been released for the thanksgiving holiday. It was released to soon,especially against Clayface and street fighter.
Koenig was great in Babylon 5 too.
The Wildwood box office baffles me. I think part of it is that its rated PG-13 so parents didnt take their kids. Even Harloff said he was gonna take his younger daughter but then heard it has some more adult themes so he didnt.
We all know that whether a movie is good or well-made is what ultimately matters. Nobody is asking John whether he’d rather see a good movie or a bad one.
What people are actually asking is, “Which villain would you be most interested in seeing in a well-made movie?”
The quality of the movie is already assumed. The question is about which villain interests him most.
I looked up times for Wildwood at the local Cinemark- no Standard showings available, only premium formats. 😅😐🤬 Clayface, a new release had only one Standard showtime. You can say that I'm a cheap bastard but, even on discount day, they are being shady. 😡

Only Thursday i have booked off is for GTA6. I couldn't find a Doomsday theater with 3 seats in a row until Dec 21st
John is right. They have dropped the ball with Sam Wilson being Captain America. The End Game scene where he gets the shield and says, “I will do my best…” and the Rogers says, “That’s why it’s yours…” That gave me the feels man! And then they turned around and instead of Sam doing his best he has given up the shield. Totally ruined all that momentum. I am still bitter, lol!!
Besides seeing it brought up here and seeing the trailer in theaters, I did not hear about Wildwood anywhere else. I watched it this past Sunday and it was aight. 🤷♂️
I saw Wildwood because I know Laika studios, but I never saw one trailer in my AMCs this year. I went in blind, and I didn’t even try. I see at least 4-10 movies a month
I think only a Nightmare Before Christmas sequel could beat the curse. Maybe something based on a hot property could do it, like Ninja Turtles or Simpsons or Fortnite.
The same shirt Robert’s wearing just arrived for me this morning. 😆 Also I didn’t know Wildwood existed until John mentioned it a little while back and I’ve definitely seen zero marketing for it.

My kids are 6 and 4 and have no idea what wildwood is. That is a problem. These companies haven’t got a clue how to just communicate to people that a movie exists and why I should want to see it.
I don't think anyone went into the shrek trailer preparing to hate it, shrek is too beloved, like they literally just had to show us a screenshot and we would have been excited.
Its that the design is so drastically different from he originals that its really jarring to see, when hes such a huge part of pop culture, hes an icon at this point a rare flawlessly designed character, its like changing the design of mickey mouse, its hard to not be immediately turned off or at least taken a back by it, for all we know it works in context but its hard to digest when we've had certain look for a character for so long and a massively popular one.
I just have to say it!! I am pissed the hell off that we got a dune part three final trailer before we got Avengers Doomsday final trailer! How the in the actual!!!
I feel like Wildwood is kind of like Dark Crystal on Netflix it's really good but people don't want to see it

In Belgium Wildwood only release in theaters on december 9. I can't wait to go see it. I love to see the effort that goes into these movies.
If you think about it…..Bucky was only alongside Cap. for a part of the war – before being "killed"/captured by Hydra. All in all, it's at least an even amount of time that both Bucky and Sam worked alongside Steve.

14:16 for me it’s not stop motion that’s the problem, it’s Laika. The animation is beautiful but their dialogue is not timeless, and in fact it’s often cringeworthy and overly sentimental. The trailer to Wildwood opened to a forcefully tear-jerking song, and it feels manipulative and not earnt, just like the movies. Tonally they just don’t gel with me, sorry. Anyway, you asked and you got… my thoughts.
I wish John would Review wildwood if he thinks it's such a masterpiece. No such thing as too late to get word of mouth out. This film deserves it
