  1. Oh man I'm excited for this one. This is the one horror game I truly feel got absolutely robbed. Easily my favorite hidden gem in horror of all time. I'm well aware that it had a troubled development and horror and gamecube was just not the combo, but I'm curious to see how much deeped you've dug into this.

  2. I have fond memories of this game. Despite the GameCube launching over 25 years ago 😮, I still find it hard to consider it retro 😅. In my mind, retro conjures up images of 2D games and sprites from the SNES era

  3. @9:11 The "camera system" they used to differentiate themselves from Resident Evil is pretty much the same one from Resident Evil Code Veronica released 2 years before to Eternal Darkness 😄

  4. I played this for the first time recently and didn't really get on too well with it. I am a bit surprised it has such critical acclaim if I'm being totally honest. Maybe one day I'll go back to it and something will click for me.

Either way though even if I didn't love this game to death I can think of few other properties that deserve another chance more than this. The creativity and passion here were definitely special and it's crazy so few (if any?) have tried to replicate its systems and concepts. So sad what happened to the devs.

  5. Hearing those two "yes"s out of that interview leads me to only one conclusion; they wanted to make those games, but didn't know how to do it like Zelda did. Especially with the handicap of the wiimote. And man let me tell you, nothing sells quite like confidence.

  6. This game deserves so much more than it did, it unfortunately came out at a really bad time honestly with circumstances beyond thier control. I hope Eternal Darkness gets remastered in the future, it deserves to be experienced by today's gamers and have a second chance to reach a new audience.

  7. It's kinda amazing how mid Nintendo's second party developers became the moment Nintendo let go of them. Shows you how much the Big N played in the development of their games, especially with SK confirming Nintendo coming over to polish up Eternal Darkness.

  8. A perfect cult classic of its time. Even if we never get another like it, they gotta throw this up on the Switch or something. Really a gem worth experiencing!

  9. I do feel like doing a direct port on NSO for Eternal Darkness would make sense plus adding in a dedicated remaster with previously cut elements and new content added as a Switch/Switch2 exclusive would be the best idea for getting the most out of the cult classic and not fight with Nintendo more than they should because putting ED on non Nintendo hardware would make them have a stroke since they own it and they hate sharing their toys.

  10. I hope it gets a remaster or digital release-release someday; I’ve never played the game, but I think it deserves to be made available for those who are interested in playing it or learning about the game and its unique spot in Nintendo’s history.
