Is this vibecoded?
No, i know there's a few iterations of "TF2 in minecraft" downloadable online but this isn't one of them; instead of a bridge between tf_win64.exe and javaw i hired a proper java developer who knows his way around neoforge for this project, it took a gargantuan amount of work & revisions to get it in a playable state. not EVERYTHING is fully functional (a lot of it is smoke and mirrors) but it's functional enough to allow for this playthrough and recording.
how does it work?
Explaining how it works in full would break youtube's comment character limit (and i'm not 100% familiar w/ my dev's codebase), but for example, bringing the merc's models and their weapons, TF2 stores it's assets in .vpks like steamappscommonTeam Fortress 2tftf2_misc_dir.vpk in which you can find class models, weapons, animations in valve's .mdl and .vtf format (.qc for animations) as well as the item schema in items_game.txt, those are converted to .obj and .mtl and rendered natively via Neoforge's built in OBJ model loader
will it be released to the public?
sorry but no. it contains valve's proprietary source code and uses weapon/map scripts from the source 2023 SDK leak so it's 1000% illegal to distribute
