Super Mario Maker 2 is filled to the brim with a ton of different items and features to help creators make their stages. However, Nintendo wasn’t able to add EVERY item they wanted into the game. In the files there is evidence of MANY features and items that were developed for the game but were ultimately removed before the official release. These can be enemies, sound effects, platforms, and even power-ups! So today I thought it would be fun to talk about what some of these deleted items were and if I want to see them return for Super Mario Maker 3!

27:15 Honestly it looks more ground poundable stakes in the ground, like the ones chain chomps use but perhaps if you'd pound on these you'd get coins
They could have added more
27:00 That looks like a diagnoal Chainchomp pole to me. Maybe it was meant to be used on slopes as a seperate variant of the item?
No human wants to make an entire contraption to harvest the stump from a chain chomp just to get a gravity block. Just give it to us Nintendo!

maybe the costume would have let you play as a Nippler Plant, in Super Mario Bros 3 they are often paired with Munchers. Anyway it's not like it HAS to make sense as there are many costumes of objects that realistically can't move either (or be underwater in the case of Inklings)
7:34 r u canadian….?
I thought it would've been really funny for you to mention the large amount of Splatoon icons that are in MM1's files for some reason
25:00 That's used for the flying boots iirc
I care that much about the weird mushroom
also the batfly sound was used in mario maker 1 for the fly minigame or the wing I think
27:13 this texture looks very similar to the seesaw sprite, so either we were going to get 1-block long seesaws or its just an early version of the seesaw icon in the item selection
0:21 WOAH. Was not expecting to see Xero mentioned here! Crazy seeing a video I edited for him be featured.
Your Mario Maker videos is what made me subscribe to you back in 2020
i actually had NO IDEA about the rayman unused costume, that is wild!!!
I miss when you could make your cursor as Mario or cat paws
22:09 Gravity Falls mentioned 🔥
Do you read out the name or the handle of members at the end. i think it is handle?
29:39 fun fact: the guy who made tetris didn't put any copyright on the game. so it is free to use for anyone
25:53 one of things that makes me love Odyssey Central so much is how he is a fellow profasia gaming hater because I hate his spoiler thumbnails and I will never forgive him for spoiling so many games for me and so many others including my goat
Im a Minecraft fan but im still here

mario maker 3 soon….. please….
19:32 Here, it looks like the giant stone crushed Mario's fucking foot! And 19:49, This would've destroyed his head in real life! Also, I guess it makes sense that it disappears in the SMB1 style, since you can't hold things in that one (or the original NES game).
31:06 i couldve sworn cloud and bayo were in this game
Peak cinema
31:01 RAYMAN MENTIONED
i have mario maker on 3ds i thinking about get maker 2 i need to beat the rest of maker 1 levels
I had to check the Just a Normal, Everyday Castle claim. It's real. What on earth.
I just want to point out that the Dizzy sound effect in SMM1 was just a "yem yoom" type of thing. It was NOT a distorted version of the beginning of the Super Mario Bros. ground theme. However, it would apply a distortion effect to the music that sounds like the same effect that is used in the SMM2 sound effect, so there does seem to be a connection.
I don't know whether to believe that they left the sound effect in by accident. It seems bizarre no matter how you look at it.
This might be a bit far-fetched, but I think the texture is from the rotating logs in NSMBU, which first appear in Soda Jungle-6. Maybe the original plan was to have rotating platforms with customizable speeds ranging from slow to fast? I'm not really sure, though. It does feel a bit far-fetched. 27:01
We're bringing back mario maker before the bowser's castle video
31:39 LETS GO MARIO RABBIDS MENTIONED
