Ace Combat has a special place in my heart when my family first got a console. Yeah, you think it’s a simple fighter jet simulator, then you get invested in its world building, history, and character-driven narrative. And the MUSIC! Oh, how the orchestra instrumentals get you invested and motivated to accomplish your mission in its soundtrack.
Glad you got to go into it blind and learn for yourself why it’s a beloved IP, Biboo. Didn’t expect you to cry, though. I guess that’s a bonus. Thanks for this. I salute to you, Meteorite 67. 🫡

I'd be VERY surprised if this game did not get some serious awards… it's MORE than worthy of them! I love the Ace Combat series! I've cried, I've raged, I've flown like a madman possessed… and I've loved it all! Biboo… One of us! One of us!… I wonder if Biboo could get a few other Hololive crew together and do some multiplayer co-op?
the last time i felt this way with a game was Armored Core 6. its really good

Ace combat 8 truly is peak
You should consider playing project wingman next, it's pretty good too.
Had to wait to see the vod as I also completed it last night. Absolutely cinema top to bottom. Glad you got to experience the world and emotional rollercoaster of Ace Combat Biboo.
I hope you are able to convert your fellow EN Members to try this game out, I'd go with Calli, IryS, and maybe Bae? The first two will be easier since they are Armored Core fans and there is a lot of spillover between the fans of the two communities. But they'll all fall in love with the music and songs.
the one thing you can expect of every single ace combat game, even the worst ones in the franchise, is that the soundtrack will be BEYOND GOOD, hell, some of the best tracks come from the 2 worst games in the whole franchise

Congrats on getting you Ace Wings today. Now we wait for the DLCs
"Why is this airplane shooting game moving me to tears?" This is the question many first-time Ace Combat players asks themselves when it's all over, and it's a perfectly normal reaction, Biboo! It just means Project Aces still has the magic.
I had a feeling Bijou would like Ace Combat but I didn't think she'd make it her game of the year 😮 very surprising considering that implies it beat Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, Onimusha, and Mortal Shell 2. Though knowing Bijou's emotional disposition it makes sense; at a glance the Ace Combat series looks like a generic fighter pilot game but it does an excellent job at getting you invested in your friendship with your allies and your rivalry with your enemies. It also always makes sure to soak you in the EPICNESS of the moment, like what you're doing has real weight to it as the Ace everyone is depending on. On top of that the series soundtrack is among the most epic, further making everything feel very high stakes.
Absolute banger of a series one of your best thank you for the stream Biboo!

I’m really glad you gave this series a chance and enjoyed it a lot. Behind the initial look of a silly plane shooter sim game lies a cheesy yet incredible story and insanely amazing soundtrack
The shot of DD losing it on the carrier is so funny and great. Genuinely love him and how overly dramatic the camera is.
I know GTA6 will take everything at the Game Awards, but this gem is my GOTY. It's simply everything we love from Ace Combat condensed into one game.
Hope you'll try AC7 and possibly the older ones too ! Project Wingman, AC Zero and AC 5 are peak in particular.

Its very fitting that Biboo finally shows her emotions (by crying at the credits) when "Hortus Regis Alti" plays @7:13:30
Because as it turns out, that melody was NEVER a Sotoan war chant.
Its a Shepard's Song. One that was a call to seek another green pasture to live on, with friends, family, and childrens.
A very, VERY cruel fate of the Sotoans after this war. The war that was done as an unfortunate act of taking a sincere call to seek better place to live (at least until their homeland was repaired), and twisting it into a call for invasion and subjugation of USEA. In part because ENSO Order saw Sotoa as a perfect candidate to spark a war of attrition, so they can push their deadly agenda.
If there is one solace for them, is what presumably are the effort from USEA (with some help from the Superpower factions, be it Osea, Yuktobania, or both) to renaturalized Sotoan deserts, so the pasture will be green once more. (As seen at the Epilogue of Rex letting Cope go, as the WSO of Kate, now "King 1")
Which mean, Biboo's tears at the end there is, without a doubt, Tears of Hope.
Hortus Regis Alti. "The Garden of the Tall Kings" awaits us all in the end. Never give up Hope
And Rise Above everything.
