  1. Generative AI (art, writing, etc) sucks, however to help with coding its the way that software development is going and you either work with it or you leave the industry. In software development, its now at a stage where companies have sped up what their expected output to the point where you HAVE to use claude or other tools because its impossible for a human to output code fast enough. A software developer needs to know how that code works either way and know how to troubleshoot it, regardless if they pressed the keys on the keyboard themselves or not.

  2. Part of the issue is the lack of transparency. The AI was very clearly used for a lot more than just scripting and coding. None of the writing looks human-made (barring maybe the dialogue trees). Now I can't say for certain of course, but everything from the the newspaper articles, the tutorial pop-up at the start, the in-game descriptors of events, all of it reeks of AI writing. Now I think more people (myself included) could maybe look past that if the author was honest about this. I mean it's a mod and it's for free; no jobs have been taken, no artists infringed on, but it does seem weird to hide that.

  3. The line I draw with Ai coding is how possible it would be to get these type of mods without it. Systems like this take an unbelievable amount of time, and time is money, and developing something this large usually requires a team. With selling mods being against the rules for a lot of games including RDR2, there is no way to gain income from this type of project.

  4. r* created this real world which already works in real time , it's just we didn't get info on the work like this nemesis mod can give us whole details on how other parts of map work without you, it's crazy but not new as it's already in game & hidden but not anymore

  5. Boycott AI? Do such insane people still exist? Literally everything they use by now has LLM generated code in it and they just have no clue?

E.g. do they not use latest Windows? And Nvidia drivers? They all have AI code in them at this point…

  6. I always said the nemesis system was the first true step to next gen ai (npc) actions and a-life. Along with games now a days adding npc to automatically hide behind buildings cover and navigate and drag and help downed friendly NPCs this is what we really need for next gen

  7. How does killing a main antagonist, like a gang leader affect the overall story? Do you lose those quest and the mod just replaces them with a another member?

  8. AI is a tool, not unlike a drill. I could technically use a screwdriver, but godamn that's so much harder and makes no sense if there's better tools available. Tools can be used for good and bad. If it's used for good and not all the creative stuff all the time, I'm fine with it.

  9. It’s crazy because non of this sounds that outrageous for a game in 2026. The fact people are legally not allowed to do this is so lame. This should be standard for open world games.

  10. I think when it comes to Ai the line for most people comes down to taking jobs away from human hands. Artist and coders for example. The supposed harm Ai is doing because of Data centers and water supply or the world ending scenario. Relying too much on Ai.

Yet at the same time if you are just one broke guy with a dream. I personally don't see the harm and I feel like most people wouldn't see the harm either. I think Ai is a great tool for people to learn how to do something or assist them in independent projects. Even just as simple as fact checking.

..But to completely take over and replace humans entirely. I fear there is a risk there that it could impact our economy in a negative way.

With all that said I think the mod is cool as hell and I wish to see how it improves. I don't see the harm in it. Ai assisted or not. My only concern is WB taking down the mod and preventing future modders from doing things like this with threat of legal action. Fuckin corporate ass wipes.

  11. 12. dude i was brainstorming stuff like this, using nemesis system and mechanics from Hitman 2….. its just a chat in gemini but the faux missions it runs are crazy.
