Sometimes a game just isn’t worth 100%ing. Maybe it’s tedious, designed to mentally break you, or downright broken. Here are the games that ruined it for us.

Crypt of the Necrodancer is not a game, is a bloodbath
there's a difference between 100% completion and 100% achievements. I hate those pop up achievements so I disable them if I can, find and complete a secret room? nice. Complete it in under x minutes or do it x times, when the game doesn't reward you? only to get a little badge in steam or trophy? I don't even care.
Has Gameranx done a video for games where 100% might not be/isn't possible?
Midnight Suns isn't that challenging to do a 100% but it's bugged.
I haven't 100% any games since I have been an adult. (I know that might sound a little demeaning, but really, it's not supposed to be, I'm just saying).
For me, there's no quicker way to sap the fun out of many games – it turns something that is fun into something that is tedious and laborious. If a games achievements are done right, 75%-90% is the golden number. Anymore than that it just stops being fun. And now that I'm in my mid 30's and married, I simply have better things to do spending hours upon hours completing meaningless achievements.
I remember 100% Crash Bandicoot Warped on PS1 as a kid, it became much easier once u unlocked bazooka 🙂
100%ing RDR2 was one of my best videogame experiences ever.
i completed ff7 rebirth and it was fun 80% of the time
Only game i 100 is spiderman remastered
Yoooo 😮
The Just Cause 2 sound effects unlocked some memories deep inside my brain
Darksiders 1 comes to mind, if you want to unlock that Abyssal armor, boy oh boy, you're really gonna grind, especially if you don't rely on guides!
4:13 I think there's a difference between 100% a game and getting all the achievements in trophies. I think there's a reason why there are different speedrun categories for both
I never 100% any game (or even finish almost any of them).
Completion is a waste of your time most of the time… And even…
I was about to replay RDR2, did the first part in the snow and quit at the first camp… I've played the game too much before, not for completion but because it was so good…
Thanks GameRanx, gonna start playing Just Cause 2 because of this video, the map clearing is right up my alley.
Now do a list of the top __ games that are the EASIEST to 100% 😂
RDR 2 is boring
one of the best times of my life. 100%ing RDR2 during covid lockdown with day drinks and the wifey
The best games to 100% are the ones who respect your time and sanity.
I expect them to require skill and dedication, but I don’t expect them to require literal days/weeks of grinding or RNG mechanics.
Some devs are real sickos, I have a family to take care of for god’s sake! 😂
Hollow knight is another one. I gave up at 104%😂im not a robot😂😂😂
Online and multiplayer/Co-op specific achievements are the worst. I’m not going to get online and grind for God knows how long nor am I going to depend on others to 1. be interested in the same game as I am and 2. be willing to schedule gaming sessions so that we can play together. Every achievement should be attainable by a single player playing offline by themselves at any time of day.
Completionism ruins games, honestly games should remove achievements and trophies
It’s totally possible to get the immersive gameplay out of RDR AND 100% it. Just do multiple play throughs. I’ve played through the story twice for different endings anyway. Then on my second one I went for my 100%. I enjoy the game enough I’m doing another play through to do as much as possible with Arthur.
Maybe I’m the only one, but I was relieved once I 100% Hogwarts Legacy. I had enough of it once it got past the story
Crash Bandicoot 4 is very irritating after a few levels if you want to finish it 100%.
100% FC in Guitar Hero is hard to calculate..
Hey! I 100%'d Hogwarts Legacy…and yes, it was tedious as all Hell.
Hogwarts Legacy they really nailed Harry Potter's vibes 👏
Surprised no mention of monster hunter (3 ultimate in particular). 😂 There was a system that made 1% drop gems more rare if the game can tell you're trying to farm a particular armor piece or weapon.
The last few hogwarts legacy achievements were such a pain in the ass man I'm just here wondering how i managed to 100% the game
I have only 100% completed a few games, started to for Hogwarts Legacy but gave up.
IDK, i kinda enjoyed 100% Hogwarts, the only part that annoyed me was having to do the first hour of the game 4 separate times just to play the house exclusive missions. i did everything on my main save file then just banged out the house exclusives at the end
I can't believe you didn't mention Stardew Valley with Junimo Kart and Journey of the Prairie King.
I remember starting to 100% Arkham Knight and saved the riddler trophies for last. Realized this was a waste of my life and just googled the secert ending. Prob saved me 30 hours
I never 100% any game. I just play till the end of the main story. For me real world activity is more important than just sitting all day behind the monitor!
12:07 😂😂 funny. Cuz im probably older and this game sucks.. I bought it the day it came out and still haven't beaten it cuz it sucks so much.
Way to much bs filler. After playing this theu could havr easily put all 3 games in one if they cut all the filler. And lvling up isn't fun. The fighting isnt fun. The game doesn't hold a candle to the original besides graphics.
Hard disagree on RDR2. It’s fair, not locked behind bullet sponges or anything extremely boring, even the card games, it all fits well.
The only 3 achievements I’m missing are, of course, Red Dead Online bullshit.
Nope hell nah lol I aint not time for that.
Any game worth its salt is worth replaying after 100% completion if you ask me.
That said, Hitman Absolution, Mercenaries 2, and Bioshock 2 were a few games I couldn't 100% because of online achievement requirements from the PS3 era. Killzone and a few other FOS games come to mind as well.
Hogwarts was one of the easiest and most interesting games to 100% tbh.
Life's too short to 100% every game
I gave up on 100% RDR2, I wanted to at least hunt all the animals, but gave up on that, it was a ridiculously large and tedious game, although it is also a masterpiece
Legend of Zelda I 100% botw 3 times and once for totk
11:43 ff7 rebirth I have a tutorial on queens gambit I’m a pro
Ff7 rebirth was killing me im at 90% I’ll go back before revelations and finish the platinum..also, I did platinum ff7 remake snd ever crisis. I’m now doing crimson desert and it’s sooo hard I’m 75% into the platinum and I’m 500 hours deep but only .04% of people in the world got the platinum and I’m going for it
I currently have 38 platinums on psn
Is it just me, or is 300 hours in a game not a lot? Like if its less than 1000, i hate that game, right?
I dont know if I like a game going above 100% or if I hate it. On one hand, if I get to 100%, I'm happy, right? On the OTHER hand, you can't have more than 100% and the Neil deGrasse Tyson in me hates that.
I have the platinum for Crash 4 … it was Painful and Rage inducing !!! But very satisfying at the end …still don’t recommend going for it …
Always read the percents when you look over the achievements lists. When you see something that .002 of players have finished…
