Depending on the time in the 90s. The music was coming out of the 80s synth and big hair rock n roll era. Music was trying to find itself. About 94-95 music was hitting becoming what we know as 90s music. Yo MTV Raps was becoming popular, but you also had TRL (Total Request Live) and boy bands were starting to pop up out of everywhere.
Out of all the music in this game I only recognized about 2 maybe 3 songs. They weren't even from the 80s or 90s. Bands like Beck, Radio Head, Pearl Jam, The Breeders, Varuca Salt, Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, Smashing Pumpkins, Blink 182, Green Day, Limp Biscuit, Korn, Foo Fighters, Counting Crows, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down, Ugly Kid Joe, Dinosaur Jr, Warrent, Faith No More, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses. New Kids on the Block, 98 degrees, VangaBoys, Backstreet Boys, N'sync, Boys II Men, Jodeci, Soul for Real, Bobby Brown, Blackstreet, Dru Hill, Mariah Carey, A Tribe called Quest, Arrested Development, Nas, Big Pun, Wu Tang Clan, Onyx, Cyprus Hill, Fudgees, ODB, Naughty by Nature, Outkast, Uncle Luke, Michael Jackson.
They missed the mark on 90s music.
GOTY has become the Oscars; didn’t even realize it happened and I’m glad I missed it because it’s just a circle-jerk of nepotism/media manipulation chalk-full of sales opportunities.

Why are we giving out game of the Year awards in October?
How much do yall wanna bet that inorder to make more money, game critics offer a paied service to game developers in order to "speed up" the review process. Or to "jump the line". Its also probably set up so the more a dev pays the faster it is and the higher the game is rated.

1. Honestly, even What Remains of Edith Finch or the original Life is Strange is better than this.
2. I grew up in 80s and 90s, and the way the game portraits it, is way far from the truth.

Isn't the owner (or one of the owners) of the studio the daughter of a multi millionaire dad who injected an obscene amount of money into her studio? I'm pretty sure I heard this somewhere but I can't remember exactly where (or if it's true)
Daddy I want to make a game isn’t even the crime here, the studio that made the movie Caroline is constantly in the negative and is bailed out by a rich dad. The real crime here is them parading around as if they are the second coming of Christ and forces every one to play along

Im annoyed about them not spending any time in the video acknowledging the fact the game was made by the daughter of a multi-billionaire, who's spent her life making like a dozen failed gay LGBTQ aligned movies and then decided to get into making video games instead, AND ON THE GAME"S RELEASE WITHIN THE FIRST HOUR ON STEAM IT HAD +2000 POSTIVE REVIEWS THUS SHOWING THAT SHE BOUGHT HER OWN GAME 1000s TIMES ON 1000s OF BOT ACCOUNTS TO SELF REVIEW THE GAME.

I would call 'Mix Tape' an interactive movie, not a game.
Road 96. Of all the "great" games they try to compare it to, ultimately its seems to be a souped up version of Road 96.
