We want a REMAKE, not a remaster. they need to build it from the ground up again, then again if they are willing to do all that, just give us D3 with a really good story line about the winnower.
Didn't he already do a day/night comparison already. Nobody wants a remake of a remake the vault was enough in D1 & shouldn't have been lazily copied to D2 anywway.

I want to play destiny not rebuy and redo everything I’ve already done. That doesn’t sound like a good use of my money. Remakes and remasters are just money grabs.
@Aztecross: what do you think you mean by a "Remaster," of D1? It's already a beautiful, visually pleasing game.
Who cares about destiny 1? No one does! We want new stuff not old crap again!!!
Personally against a D1 remastered because we don't need a remastered yet. I would rather more story then a retelling of something I already know with a new coat of paint.

While it's true the handcrafted lightmaps looked better than dynamic lighting here, the fact is that the modern environment artist CAN spend more time tweaking the position + settings of the dynamic lights to get a more aesthetically pleasing result. It'd take more effort than just throwing up the light sources and calling it a day, but I think the effort is worth it for the player.
And as for the question Aztecross presents, yes, I would 100% pay money for a D1 remaster on PC.
I'm personally split on whether I would want the 100% authentic D1 experience mechanically, or whether I would enjoy it more with the current excellent Monument of Triumph D2 sandbox.

I would play the hell out of a D1 remake on PC and Xbox to be honest. When D2 came out I made the move to PC purely for that game so if there was a way where I could import my D2 Guardian back into D1 on PC to get the full experience with my 3 Characters that would be amazing. My 3 D1 characters on Xbox are in purgatory right now because I was not able to at that time bring them to D2.
The atmosphere in d1 was incredible. The colour tones are exceptional
The nine saga needs to finish inside of D2 before a D3 can be made
D1 has the vibes but sooooo littel content. , wonky movment and i played through it once – so it would be boring to play it again…D1 REmaster would be good for new players…

I would love a d1 pc remaster and have all the original sandbox’s and have the dlc’s slowly coming out. And being over the great d2 quality of life stuff like the travelling to destinations without orbit every time
05:14 i think somewhere along the way they just removed most of the baked in effects, just because they could cut time off with it. think back to the d2 red legion first mission. the rain, the lighting, the vibe, was when i remember it correctly the same. but somewhere along the way they just threw everything over.
02:04 almost everything in d2 is brighter when you take the counterpart from d1… this just brought me to the realization, that when the do a d1 remaster/classic/infinite whatever, they NEED TO KEEP the OLD artdirection!

Honestly, whether we get d1 classic or d3, I want a return to d1's darker aesthetic
edit: also, I'd LOVE a destiny classic on pc because I didn't get to play d1 due to being a PC first gamer, and am far from ever wanting to invest in a console for any reason.
edit2: I get the changes in how that stuff is processed and everything now but, they can still make that darker aesthetic, even if its not as artistically polished.
edit3: Comparing Destiny 1 vs Destiny 2's aesthetic really is like. Comparing some of the best art of today to the Mona Lisa.
Like, d2 is beautiful, but d1 is unbeatable.

I miss D1, my best friends and I bonded so strongly over this game at the point where it barely had its marbles together lol Part of me would love a remaster but there's nothing bringing that magic back.
Fk all the remakes/remasters, better spend all that time and money on new D2 content, or even D3.

105 fov in destiny 2 is around 100 actual fov. This is slightly less than what source games are using as the standard at 106 actual fov (90 in source games) and slightly less than valorant which is 103 actual fov. It's weird but different games use different fov "types" so the in game fov and the actual fov on screen don't line up.

The great thing about D1 is that it outmatches D2 and doesn't need to be remade, they could just port it over.
I want D1 and D2 to be brought together as one cohesive game. I've wanted this since the launch of D2. We'll never see it unless Bungie make it happen.
Its easy. Bungie focus on restoring and unsunsetting D2, a support studio remakes D1 and somewhere along the line they start incubating D3.

Wait, didn’t Aztecross say in one of his older videos that making Destiny 1 a remaster was pointless? Why would he change his mind?
d2 skybox flows into the atmosphere and makes you feel like there is no skybox making everything feel bigger and more intentional where as d1 skybox looks like a gif being played off the player map. there's no transition into the playable area so it not only feels worse to be a part of it has way less depth than d2. plus these old assets are pretty bad like character and gun models look soooo old and potato. if u want grit go play witch queen or final shape. hard pass (d1 day1 – final shape vet btw over 8k hours in destiny as a whole)
D2 has always looked like sht.
I hope they never mutilate D1's corpse w/ a remake.
