das ME feels like a "It's you!" "Despite everything, it's still you" situation
Something about the first fight in Red/Green and FireRed/LeafGreen is just special.
They don’t have anything but Tackle or Scratch and Growls. You don’t have any real tactics or options. You can only watch them slowly whittle each other down.
A crit feels like something magical. A miss feels like something devastating. No real stakes about it, it’s the first fight, but it has you on the edge of your seat without anything crazy happening.
I love it as an introduction to Pokémon. Makes you instantly get attached to the little guy (or gal) that you just picked up. A win feels like you two overcame the first hurdle, a loss feels like something you two will remember for a while. Either way, you are invested. There’s nothing quite like it.

Y'know, when the Pokethon started I didn't expect to grow as attached to the Dratini line and Pineco as I am now. But now I look at Udon like a proud father, just because I got to name a funny little noodle dragon after letting it ride for hours.
And to anyone asking why I mentioned Pineco, just wait until the Johto video 😉

Oh we sharing our nuzlocke experiences today?
My first and furthest nuzlocke, I had my starter Jet the Blastoise all the way from start till the end. We got all the way to Blue, with only like 4 members left. Last thing I know was his Alakazam surviving my crunches. From there, sunny day growth venusaur and extreme speed Arcanine just deleted the rest of my team. The worst part is that after that, I made one run and we cleared it. We were so damn close… I guess that's true to the original Nuzlocke as well. Failing at the last step.
This was such a beautiful exprience to watch. I love seeing your community rally together to cheer you on. Great art, great vibes, great friends, and great viewers. This video will forever live in my white noise playlist.
