Is this the most efficient way to find a needle in a haystack?

The Civil Draft expansion, Architectural Reality, is here:

Part 2! Find The Needle is a game about literally finding a needle in a giant haystack, and it nearly broke me!

  1. I think the power conveyors weren't backed up earlier because they dropped the hay onto the generator line from above, which fell on the floor when it was full. Once you connected the conveyors to the power generator, the lines could back up.

  2. as someone whose played this to end-game and am just finishing off the pile and waiting for the last needle to be found, the spaghetti HURTS! GG on finding another needle though!

Edit: Please tell me you plan to play this engineering-style for patreons or something? Please!?

  3. 27:59 can confirm this to be true. At my last workolac there was a robot welding arm and it really cared not for anything other than where it's programmed part or assembly was 😅

  4. I found the best way to take down the pile is about 13 long reach arms, a dozen balers, a dozen wrappers, and like 9 or 10 generators. I did the first large stack (about 33M hay) and finished with about 7 hours to spare.

Space out all the arms around the pile with 6 on one direction and 7 on the other, each with their own scanner and fed into a T-junction. All hay comes down to a single belt and a series of T-junctions set to go to the generator first (the 10 generators).

From there, you can use a line of T-junctions for all 12 balers or split 6 and 6 (I found all 12 work fine enough). Have 6 merge into one belt and another 6 merge to another belt and then use a compact splitter on both belts to feed 2 wrappers from each output.

You can get away with merging all 12 wrappers onto one belt if the belt is at max speed but I prefer putting 6 onto the sale belt and then making your own belt into the sell bag for the other 6. You can average a little over $10,000/min.

If you're really crazy and have the computer to run it, you can double this setup, but you probably can't fit 26 arms on the pile unless you make platforms and a second level on one of the giant piles.

EDIT: For this to work best, you need everything related to the setup at max upgrade level in the tab menu.

  5. For April 1st next year, I challenge the editors to splice together the thousands of hours of RCE footage to make a video in which Matt is saying only nice things about architects and his editors

  6. Do you make it this inefficient on purpose as advertisement? I just finished this game, and its really not that complicated, so i dont quite understand how you make it look so hard??

  7. Honestly, put a handful of these videos as premium content that's a little longer and I think people would be happy. Maybe even just 3 or 4 episodes could probably get most of the game done. I'd watch it and I'm still watching the cities skyline episodes

  8. Watched your youtube, downloaded the demo, 13 hours later i found all the needles for the demo and got trough all the hay. Its the best game i've played this year! Love your videos.

  9. Im too sad to Snowrunner post today, I watched a video of a lovely little steel arch bridge taken out by the flash floods in Nepal. It took like 6 giant boulders flowing in the river to finally take it out, and the bridge structure slowly floated down the river messing with powerlines along the way. Traumatizing, that poor bridge was innocent 🙁
