Man I played like 50 hours of WoW about 20-25 years ago when I was a kid. LOVED the experience, but having brothers and having to share computer time made it nearly impossible to play consistently. Put it down and always wanted to go back. Finally did tonight and started playing classic! I love it! Im going to use this next month to learn as much as I can so im not going in as an absolute pleb to Forever. But im pumped for Forever and feel like I picked up the game at the perfect time as a complete noob, seeing Forever is around the corner.
I cant stand retail WOW, so i hope more than anything WOW forever is what we want.
Im a og player. I fall on the side of Traditional and Vanilla, But Atm, I am CAUTIOUSLY happy with this. I dont want a 1-1 copy of vanilla, BUT I also dont want anything that leans too hard towards retail. Graphics are fine, some systems that fit with Vanilla are fine. So long as Blizzard doesnt ruin this by being Bli$$ard. im good. My biggest concern that Must be addressed, Blizzard needs to Ban and remove disruptive, entitled Streamers like Asmon and many others, Mainly Asmon, that disgusting and disruptive man child needs to be removed, he thinks he is bigger than the game and EVERYONE else who plays it. Him and his cult.

Honestly the lighting and water effects give it that great new fresh coat of paint but keeps the design feel
Im not sure if i should get into this now. I have never played wow and know nothing of it. I feel like older gamers only play it because they have invested too much into wow already to leave it and the game seems to only care for these og players. I get why, theres a shitton of old players to suck every loose dollar out of but still

I haven't played since WotLK. I'm not sure how long I will pay but I'll give it at least a month or so when it comes out.
Looks good but I get this weird cringe and nausea just thinking about grinding for hours on MMOs, guild events, time commitments, etc.

I have little faith in Blizzard, but WoW really is something they perfected. Classic and Retail are not bad.
The only problem, imo, will always be the community. When it came out in early 2000 people were not trying to min max everything. There is nothing wrong with that in most games because they basically play as a solo game, but it ruins MMOs completely. It’s hard to get a party or small raid going but very easy to ruin it.
The problem is really out of their hands.

Idk maybe im a snob, but i feel like wow needs a major overhaul before i ever go back to it. Especially graphically. Its 2026, there is no reason they shouldn’t have been able to remake wow with more modern graphics and a better more dense open world. Enough regurgitating old content or adding soulless expansions. Just make a wow 2 for godsakes and they will make so much money.
Wardogs shows that, all you need to do is, make a really good game, rest will go its way.
