Roger Ebert said video games could never be art.
But when someone inflates the value of something like this to bleed people dry, what else could it be but fine art?
A box of old Nintento games found in Wisconson could be worth millions of dollars!
I got Contra II, Double Dragon II, and TMNT II in the same original cartridge.
Rarest? There's probably 50 million of these around. Console dumbos really like wasting their money on garbage. Just download the rom, play it on an emulator against Nintendo's will and be done with it. These cartridges are worthless. I'd be much more impressed if someone cdould find an old Creative 3D Blaster still bundled with Rebel Moon (requires a specific model too). Not a super great game but better than the zack snyder trash name-stealing movie.
You should see how the US media covers political news 😬
They messed up and said Illinois
I have one… I'm a millionaire now 😂
Too bad theyre using PSA to auction these carts off. The same PSA wrapped up in a $1billion-$3billion dollar fraud lawsuit. These carts were supposed to be melted down apparently, & never was.
Imagine you spent years studying journalism, and end up doing paid adds disguised as news. 😂
14:22 Ahmagaaash plaaaz shaw us
i also could be a millionaire, only if i won the lottery.
This is the only video made about this guy on the Karl Jobst channel. It could be worth Millions
how do i "don't recommend this channel" on PC?
I used to be very active in a niche collecting scene, and I agree that the story behind an item is often the most important thing. The one part of the story that seems possibly interesting to me is if these are really a newer printing than what was previously known to exist. A legitimate new discovery would be impressive, and I'd understand some hype before the historians were able to figure out how many copies of this print run exist. But the entire collection selling for a combined million would be a huge surprise to me.
P.S. my collection is pretty much entirely not graded, because the niche is misprints. The only pieces in my collection where I care about the grading slab are ones where the slab itself has an error.
$1500 is a month's rent for most people???
I had to check how long ago you posted this. Since it was just 5 days ago, where do you live that you can rent a flat for $1500??
The average rent for a studio/bachelor/room with kitchen and bath in my area is about $2400.
Also Mario/Duck Hunt is NOT a rare cartridge. Rare cartridges DO NOT sell for $15. I've paid in the high 600s for a single complete-in-box cartridge for my TI-99/4A for which cartridges are considerably more reasonably priced that those for Atari or Nintendo.
A box (not the cartidge or the manual, just the box) for the Sears/Atari VCS version of Superman sold 2 years ago on eBay for US$1100. I don't think you fully fathom the value of rare vintage game cartridges. A copy of Super Mario Bros sold in 2001, for $2 million dollares with the average value for THAT cartridge hovering in the $870,000 range. Super Mario64 sold for 1.2 million.
Rare comes at a premium. Not $15.
This video is extremely dangerous to our democracy
Faaak i had that cart. Dont k ow where it went
"I would pay 10 grand, some shi… like that. 50 grand, so shi… like that. But I turnt it down."
Unless they're just lying about it being a previously unknown late run for which these are the only known survivors, how do they not check all the boxes for being rare and valuable? An unsold never-packaged phantom run that was slated for destruction is the exact kind of stuff collectors usually go crazy for just as much if not more than a sealed first run.
Did I just miss the part where you proved they were lying about what these carts actually are? 'cause this just seems like you're judging this find for not fitting your very personal criteria for "value".
Who they trying to rip off? Anyone who wants to spend big money in this would know the real prices
The sarcastic math at the beginning of this video was epic 😂
Ive played that game, everyone else has played that game, I have it digitally multiple times, its not rare, claude code can probably reproduce the entire thing from scratch for 20cents in tokens infinite times over…
Someone thinks putting said game on a piece of plastic no modern device can even read makes it worth millions.
NFT bros, how do they still have money to loose?
Grading companies are truly the pure evil – whether in video games or in the real world. They will be the downfall of humanity 😀
Not even watching the video, sick and tired of this model of clickbaiting where content creator thinks people are stupid. "Rarest game found" and then image of the cart that is propably the most common nes cart in history…
It's as if these people haven't heard that the retro game market bubble already popped. That or they just don't want to believe it.
A box of Nintendo games found in Wisconsin could be worth millions!
Damn I hate it when my news just reads from a script word by word with barely any deviation
No one else can scam people. Only Karl Jobst.
If you had 1m and you choose to spend it on that BS instead of like a house and a car or something you never should have had it in the first place. Financial darwinism.
If anyone doesn't know news isn't BS they're probably still children
Those news segments are Sinclair, they ran a story on "Fake News and Biased Stories Plaguing Social Media" on over 16 local news stations including CNN, Fox, MSNBC, ABC, and others, on youtube its called "Sinclaire's Script for Stations". The irony and hypocrisy is on another level!
So you’re telling a box of old Nintendo games found in Wisconsin could be worth millions
I'm going to invest my life savings and offer to buy one of these for $10.
I'm losing money not buying in
I'm so glad that I'm not a person that has to report an that kind of stuff. I couldn't look at myself in the mirror and feel dirty for months after this.
Mattpatt has made a video in years and the "game theory line" is still being used lol
Dumb as there are millions of those games that came with the box it's worthless Lol
@4:50 Obviously written by an AI
This video appears right after the post of the man who had his 100 nes game collection stolen. Too funny.
The Ghost is back!👻
"This story is brought to you by NPC Media."
They probably still use pengő
According to my calculations
One of those cards with the manual worth 50 140 000 pengő.
usually when games are discovered in boxes years later it completely destroys the value, it doesn't make it go up 🤣
